Nina:

I looked at the mirror and smiled at my reflection. Today, I looked like a real bride in an elegant white dress. More importantly, I felt I deserved it. My stomach was flat still, and I touched it.

"Hello my dear, today is your parent's wedding. Well, technically it is the second one, I know it sounds weird, but your father and I never do a normal thing." I got used to speaking to my child every day. I believe he could hear me, and I didn't want to miss any chance to be close to him.

A knock on the door brought me back to the present, and I smiled when Ayla, Lillian, Caroline, and a shy Maria entered the room.

They took turns admiring my dress and complementing my look. Caroline took a box from her purse and asked me to bend down a bit. "This is a tiara Ethan's Grandma gave me on my wedding day, it is time my son's wife take it," Caroline said as she fixed it in my hair.

I looked in the mirror and admired how it looked. It was simple and elegant, but it added so much charm to my look.

"Ethan won't believe his eyes. You look magnificent." Lillian said with a smile on her face.

"You too look stunning. Your choice of red dress as the bridesmaid's attire was successful." I complimented her.

"Well for her, I hate this dress," Maria said in disdain as she looked down at her above-the-knee red dress.

"Stop being pessimistic. You look good." Ayla scolded.

"Try living with Enzo for a month and let's see if you will stay optimistic." Maria shot back.

"Enzo was a cheerful man, I wonder who turned him into a cold bastard," Lillian said protectively.

"I think you were blind then because your friend was always a bastard."

Maria was getting worked up and Lillian didn't give her a break. She got up in her face and said with ferocity in her voice. "Enzo is not my friend only, he is my brother, and if you ever think of hurting him, I won't hesitate to finish you."

Caroline and Ayla shook their heads at the now often banter between the girl and Lillian. They separated them with a scolding look on their faces.

"Come on girls, today is not for fighting," Caroline said with warning clear in her stern voice.

Both girls apologised and promised to act civil at least for today. I was sure their animosity won't stop until they get it out of their system.

Lillian knew Enzo since he was a child and was protective of him at the same level she loved Jackson. She loved Enzo the kind and funny guy and didn't like how Maria spoke about him.

Poor Maria got the worst version of Enzo. He treated her badly and didn't waste the chance to humiliate her. Their story was so complicated, and today wasn't the time I occupy my mind with it.

Soon, the woman left and I stood alone in the room ready to walk down the aisle. I was surprised when Damian Salviatti in all his glory entered the room. The man didn't say two full sentences to me since the day I shot his son. So why was he here?

He walked to my side and offered me his arm. I looked up at him in question and he said. "I will walk you down the aisle."

"Why?"

"You are my daughter-in-law, and I want this day to be special to you," Damian answered simply.

"Thank you so much," I cleared my throat and adjusted my veil.

On wobbly feet, I walked the length of the venue. I was thankful Damian was supporting the majority of my weight. If he wasn't holding me, I am sure I would have made the tabloids tomorrow as the bride who face-planted on her way to her husband.
