The night was still young, casting its enchanting spell over the world. Billie, her figure draped in a flowing black hoodie and jeans that clung to her waist, had been seated on the same bench for what felt like hours. She bore the appearance of a wanderer, an enigmatic soul seeking solace amidst the shadows.

Yet, Billie's purpose was clear: she longed to be the first person to acquire a copy of the notorious poetry book written by her beloved, Jupiter. The anticipation pulsed through her veins, filling her with an irresistible urge to claim that precious treasure.

Gazing upon the empty bookstore before her, Billie's eyes wandered over the displays, adorned with an array of fiction and young adult books. Intrigue danced in her mind, beckoning her to explore the realms of literature she had long disregarded. Books had never held much allure for her, their pages deemed tedious and uninteresting.

However, everything had changed now. She was entwined with a writer, a gentle spirit who possessed a kindness that both intimidated and intrigued her. This newfound connection had kindled a curiosity within Billie, compelling her to embrace the world of literature with an open heart.

As the hours passed, the sun gradually dipped beneath the horizon, leaving trails of golden hues in its wake. People hurriedly made their way to their destinations, perhaps driven by the obligations of work. Yet, amidst the flurry of life, Billie's attention was captivated by a woman who entered the bookstore, the very establishment she had patiently observed all night. Puzzled, she wondered why this woman had not chosen an earlier hour to embark on her literary quest.

The closed sign on the door performed its nightly ritual, silently flipping to the open side. Billie's heart leaped with anticipation, and she hurriedly made her way into the shop, the door creaking gently in her wake.

The interior of the bookstore beckoned to her, its aisles lined with an eclectic array of books, each containing a world waiting to be discovered. Yet, it was the LGBTQ+ section that caught her eye. The shelves were adorned with an assortment of lesbian literature, a testament to the diverse narratives that had found their voices.

Amongst them, Billie's gaze fell upon a book titled 'Hillside is my love.' Its very presence whispered promises of a captivating tale that resonated with her soul. A decision took root within her, unyielding and resolute. Should she purchase and immerse herself in the very words her girlfriend had crafted with love and passion?

Billie's conviction faltered not for a moment, as she reached out and grasped the book, feeling its weight settle into her hands. She moved with purpose, traversing the store in search of the new masterpiece that Jupiter had penned.

Lost in her thoughts, Billie was interrupted by a girl of similar height who approached her with gentle curiosity. Her voice, soft and comforting, broke the silence. "Excuse me, do you need any help?"

Billie's voice, almost a whisper, responded, "Um, yes. Do you happen to have the new book by Jupiter Jones?"

A glimmer of recognition sparked in the girl's eyes. "Yes, we received the shipment yesterday. I haven't had a chance to display them yet. Would you like me to retrieve a copy for you?"

Billie's heart swelled with gratitude. "Yes, I would truly appreciate that," she replied, her words carrying the weight of her anticipation.

The girl disappeared into the depths of the bookstore's backroom, while Billie patiently waited by the cash register, her mind a whirlwind of anticipation and wonder. Moments later, the girl returned, holding in her hands the coveted book.
