Cassandra Marie Sloan Shepherd or Cassie, she the younger half sister of Derek Shepherd and Mark Sloan. She's a third year resident at Seattle Grace, following in her older brothers footsteps to becoming a surgeon.

Cassandra, Alex and Lexie are walking down the hallway when Jackson, Reed and Charles runs up behind them.
" Do any of you know what this meeting is about?" Jackson asks.
" I heard it was a coup." Reed says.
" Webber's out, Shepherd's in, is that true?'' Charles asks.
" We know what you know." Lexie says.
" Except me to believe you three don't know." Jackson says.
" Don't you have your own loser friends to talk to." Alex says.
" Alex" Cassandra says, rolling her eyes at him.
" Also heard Shepherd plans to clean the house. Maybe he'll start with you." Charles says.
" Dude, I'm safe. The guy is my roommate. You're the once who should watch your back" Alex says.
" Why? What do you know?" Reed asks nervously.
" Simple math" Alex says." Shepherd hates the merger, You're from Mercy West is toast." Alex continues.
" That's not true. Derek isn't gonna fire anyone." Cassandra says.
" Of course, The sister knows" Reed says
" I might know something small or what this whole thing is about." Cassandra says as she hurries up the last bit to avoid questions.
As the six arrive where everyone else is, Jackson grabs Cassandra's arm stopping her as the others continue forward in the crowd.
" Why didn't you tell me?" Jackson says, looking at Cassandra.
" I found out last night and I promised I wouldn't tell anyone about it until after this meeting, I'm sorry." Cassandra says, looking at him. " Come on, We don't need the others to suspect us already." Cassandra says, taking Jackson by the wrist dragging him with her to the others.
Derek looks nervously out over the crowd in front of him. Cassandra can see he's nervous and gives him a thumbs up and a smile.
" Five bucks he messes up." Alex says.
" I will take that action." Hunt says.
Arizona, Callie and Christina just look at Cassandra confused why she isn't doing anything.
" I know, He's my brother and I should stand up for him but look at him. He's a mess already. Plus he's speeches at our sisters weddings one worse than the one before. So I'm not gonna say anything." Cassandra says looking at Derek.
" I wanna thank you all for being here. I know you're busy, So I'll try to make this quick. As you may have heard I have been appointed interim chief of surgery." Derek starts his speech by saying. " It's my personal goal to make this transition as smooth as possible. I know we have had a rocky few months." Derek continues with.
" Here it comes." Alex mumbles.
" Mistake has been made" Derek says.
" He's talking about the merger." Alex says miking Cassandra elbow him. "Ouch!" Alex screams out. Making everyone look at him. " Sorry." He says
" Anyway. I intend to right those wrongs and..." Derek says before looking though he's cards.
" Told ya" Alex whispers.
" Alex, Stop it" Cassandra whispers glaring at Alex.
" to bring this hospital back to its former glory." Derek says.
" We are screwed." Jackson says.
" Yes, you are, sucker." Alex says with a laugh.
" No none of you are, He's not gonna fire anyone. So calm down and Alex stop being an asshole." Cassandra says.
After Derek's speech Arizona walks up to Cassandra with a big smile.
" Cassie, I heard you and Karev are the future of peds." Arizona says.
" Who said it?" Cassandra asks, confused.
" A little bird named Mark did. I want you and Karev to work with me today. So I can see if he's right. See you up at the peds floor in fifteen." Arizona says before walking away to talk with Alex.
Cassandra starts walking towards the elevator when Jackson walks up behind her
" Whose services are you on?" He whispers.
" I'm with Robbins" Cassandra answers, turning around.
" Peds?" He laughs a little.
" You don't think peds is hardcore? You can say that to my face Avery. Don't let the babies fool you. Peds is hardcore." Cassandra says as the elevator doors open.
Cassandra walks in " You coming or what?" Cassandra asks, looking at Jackson.
" I'm coming, gorgeous" Jackson says as he walks in and the door closes behind him.
Jackson grabs Cassandra by the waist pulling her in before they start kissing. As they kiss Cassandra's pager goes off. She grabs it as Jackson starts kissing her neck. She look at it, seeing 911.
" When the doors open on the peds floor I need to hurry. It was 911" She says with a little laughter as Jackson continues kissing her neck. " Jackson." Cassandra says turning around.
" 911. I heard you, Cas." Jackson says, smiling at her.
She wraps her arms around his neck kissing him again before the door opens on the peds floor, Cassandra pulls away.
" I'll see you later." She says with a smile before running out of the elevator.
A couple hours later Cassandra walks into Derek's new office where Derek, Mark and Owen are playing mini basketball. Owen's pager goes off and leaves the room, throwing the ball to Cassie.
" Cassie" Derek says.
" How's your first day as chief?" Cassandra asks as she sits down on the couch and passes the ball to Mark while looking at her two brothers.
" Did you know Lexie slept with Alex Karev?" Mark asks, playing with the ball.
" Yeah, I heard Mer yell at them in the kitchen yesterday morning." Cassandra says. as Mark passes her the ball.
" And you didn't tell me?" Mark asks.
" You were busy with Sloan and her baby. Plus you guys had broken up and you slept with Addison. So stop being a hypocrite." Cassandra says, looking at Mark before beginning to put her hair up in a ponytail.
When she does both Derek and Mark start looking closer at her neck.
" Is that a hickey?" Mark asks, looking at his baby sister.
" No, It's a burn mark from my curling iron this morning. I was gonna curl my hair but I burnt my neck so I decided not to." Cassandra says looking at her brothers.
" It's a hickey." Derek says.
" Who gave it to you?" Mark asks.
" My curling iron. Because it's a burn mark" Cassandra says.
" Come on Cassie, tell us." Derek says.
" I told you the truth, it was my curling iron. Why would I lie?" Cassandra says looking at her older brothers waiting for an answer.
" Okay, a curling iron. Sorry" Mark says, putting his hands up.
