Cassandra Marie Sloan Shepherd or Cassie, she the younger half sister of Derek Shepherd and Mark Sloan. She's a third year resident at Seattle Grace, following in her older brothers footsteps to becoming a surgeon.

Cassandra starts waking up. She slowly opens her eyes and looks around seeing she's in a hospital room.
" Look who is awake." A woman says.
Cassandra turns her head to her left. " Lizzie?" She asks confused.
" Hi, Cupcake." Liz says with a smile.
" How long was I out for?" Cassandra asks, looking at her older sister.
" 17 years, No I'm joking 5 days." Liz answers looking at her sister who is trying to reach for the water but Cassandra stops as soon as a sharp pain hits her side.
" Ouch." Cassandra says, holding her stomach.
" You okay?" Liz asks as she's getting up from her chair.
" I just need water." Cassandra says, leaning back to the back of the bed.
" How are you feeling for real this time?" Liz asks her younger sister as she pours a cup of water before walking over to the bed giving it to Cassandra "Here you go, now tell me how you're feeling" before sitting down on the edge of the bed.
Cassandra takes a sip before answering " I'm a bit sore, but that's what happens if you get shot." Cassandra takes another sip of her water before looking at Liz, " Lizzie tell me the truth, is he alive?" she asks as her eyes start feeling with tears.
Before answering Liz takes her youngest sister's hand " Derek is fine, Mom and the others are with him right now." Liz answers.
" By taking my hand like that you made me believe he died, Lizzie. Not fun at all." Cassandra says looking at her sister shaking her head. But stops as soon as she relizie something "Mark?"
" He's fine." Liz says. " Not even a scratch on him. He's already back to work." She continues holding her sister's hand and smiles reassuringly. " They are both fine."
"Thank God, they are fine." Cassandra says as tears of relief roll down her cheeks.
"Liz, If you wanna go talk to Derek, I can sit with her if she wakes up." Someone says from the doorway.
" Hi, Nance" Cassandra says, looking over at her oldest sister in the doorway.
"Cassie" Nancy says hurrying over to her baby sister who's laying in the hospital bed. " You're finally awake. Thank God you're okay Cassie." She says hugging Cassandra. " We've all been so worried."
" All? Like everyone, like the kids too?" Cassandra says.
" They are back home, worried about their Auntie Cassie." Liz says, laughing a little. " You really think we would bring our kids after you two got shot. We're doctors, we know you need to rest. But I should probably call home and tell them you're awake and tell the others too." Liz says getting up from the end of the bed.
