"You are coming with me." The familiar deep voice echoed.
I looked down at my dimmed phone screen in terror as I saw what stood behind me.

With my heart suddenly starting to race with adrenaline, I broke free of his grasp, feeling his sharp nails against my skin.

I tumbled onto the ground and stumbled to the street I grabbed a broken piece of wood from the curb.

I held it out like it would protect me and spoke sternly.
"What do you want?"

"I want a truce, I can tell you about your past, and in return, you kill the trollhunter for me." His voice sent shivers down my spine.

"H- how do you know about my past?" I stuttered but kept my ground.

"Because I was there."

The words spoken terrified me. I was never tempted to find out where I came from...but I couldn't help but wonder what he knew. And to kill Jim? I could never- no I would never turn my back on him.

"Y-you tried to kill me! Why should I help you? How do I know you're not gonna pull some sick move on me and stab me in the back? Literally!" I took a step back.

"I gave you a chance..." Without hesitation, he charged at me and I quickly jumped out of the way.

He started swinging at me with poisonous daggers and each time I blocked them with the piece of wood.

That was until it snapped in half, I tumbled behind him and kicked the splintered wood into one of the places he'd carved out of himself.

He only grunted as the wood broke into pieces and hit the ground.

"Oh Lord help me." I stepped back as he whipped around with another dagger.

Jim was right, I couldn't handle him, so I chose the next option. I turned around to run and Angor sent a dark orb flying towards me.

"Nope not that way!" I slid as I turned in the opposite direction and ran as fast as I could.

Afraid to look back and forgetting my speed I tripped over the corner of the sidewalk and rolled to the ground. I only got a glimpse of Angor standing in my driveway for a second before I continued running.

It was then I saw Aja and luug running around outside with the mom blank sweeping the patio. It only took a second for Aja to see me and run over to me.

"Phoenix- what happened, are you alright?" She held onto my arms.

"I'm- I'm fine but the- my phone, and my ankle and he broke into my house, and he-"

"Who!?" She cut off my rambled mess of words.

"Ang-" I thought for a moment, "one of the mysteries of Arcadia..." I sighed, catching my breath.

Luug started barking and licking my foot as if it'd make me feel better before standing on his back legs and sniffing my leg.

"Oh... Okay, let's just get you inside, I'll have Varvatos keep an eye out." She put her arm around me as I limped beside her.

Looking down at my leg where luug was sniffing, I saw a cut. 'probably that scrap wood.' I thought.

"We'll get some frozen peas to calm that swelling right down!" The mom blank walked into the house, continuing to sweep.

"For a robot... She's surprisingly thoughtful."

"Well, Mother did technically change more than their outer exterior." Aja chuckled.

"Hey, how come you're still in your human form?"

"It hasn't run out yet, so I wanted to play outside with luug!" She helped me up onto the step near the door.
