Kiya's POV
Legend grabs me around my waist and launches me into the air, letting me fall into the water. I surface, coughing, spluttering and giggling. "Legend!" I scold, glaring at him.
He bites his lower lip to mask his amusement. I splash him, and he splashes me right back.
He dives beneath the water and surfaces three feet away from me, then graceful swims away from the pool, away from me. While I swim back to the edge of the pool getting out, I contemplate my options. Legend is a faint speck in the distance.
We've been in New York for five days now, I've been checking on Xavier since, he's still in the coma sadly... there's nothing I can do than to be there for him... from a distance.
We're leaving tomorrow morning as for Xavier he's staying in New York until someone from his family says it's okay to transport him back to California.
But let's say we're having the time of our lives aside for babysitting Xavier in the hospital.
I'm now in an indoor swimming pool at the hotel. I get out of the pool wrapping my towel around me heading towards the bar sitting down on a stool. At the lounge our drinks have arrived and I take a quick sip of Sprite.
"Your curls are coming back" Legend says behind me touching my wet hair
"You didn't like it straight?" I ask
"I did it just wasn't you" he kisses my shoulder
"Hmm" I said
"Does your dad know where you are?" He asks
"Yeah Hero told him" I said
"What's going happen to Hero?" He asks
"Back into foster care I assume but I was thinking..." I stopped
"Talk to me" Legend sips on his mango alcoholic beverage
"Maybe my dad could adopt Hero" I said
"Huh?" Legend asks
"It's just a thought, I know I haven't known him for long but he feels like a little brother to me and I hate seeing him go from house to house, he has nobody" I said
"Kiya..." Legend says
"I'm not trying to replace Kaiden cause he will always be the other half of me I'm trying to help a kid who desperately needs help. I need to do this... cause if Xavier dies he'll be alone once again and I know how it feels to be alone" I said
"I'll be by your side supporting your crazy ideas" he said
"Thank you for coming here with me I know you hate Xavier" I said
"You're welcome" he smiles
"I don't know what to do about Xavier anymore. I love him to death and I want to hate him so freaking bad but I can't I just can't give up on him" I said
"Even after he made your life a miserable hell? I blame him for Kaiden's death, if only that asshole kept his mouth shut" He said
"Yes, it's something about watching the same man I love with all my heart try to kill himself in front of me... how are you not phase?" I ask
"Angel I been around too many druggies, I've seen it all. It's the new normal" he said
"It shouldn't be like that" I said
"Some stuff you just have to pray on it" he said
"I haven't prayed in years" I said
"Wait pause cause if it was you I'll be just as hurt" I said
