Chapter 13: Confrontation

As Hector racked another round one of them turned around and was shot. The one on the left and right both turned around at the same time and jumped at him.

Jumping back he kicked one back with the help of rocket boosters and shot the man chest. The woman then grabbed a bottle and threw it at him which he ducked as she went in for a punch.

Using the stock of his shotgun he hit her face knocking her on the ground before without hesitation shooting her.

"Now I gotta make it look like a accident-"

"Hey Rider where-...."

As Hector was thinking what to do the door opened to see three woman who looked at him and around him in horror.

He then saw them pull out their weapons which was a long staff with what looked like axes? But at the same time looked like it could transform into a bow. But the one in the middle extended out her arm to show a wrist mounted crossbow.

"I don't know who you are but you're coming with us." The woman in the middle said.

Hector held up the detonator and said,

"One more step and this building along with the surrounding buildings go up in flames. And if I'm not mistaken, there's a daycare just behind this building."

He then loaded his shotgun while awkwardly holding the detonator. Both of them looked at each other waiting for the other to make their move.

"Are... you the bounty hunter?" Fiona asked which Hector replied.

"THE bounty hunter? Has my reputation grown that much?" Hector mused which Joanna replied.

"How can anyone see a kid murder people for money and not expect to talk about it?"

"Then you should know that making a enemy out of me isn't the best option."

Hector said visibly gripping the detonator tightly to make them back off as he thought of a way to escape.

Robyn putting her weapon away asked,

"We're not the enemy here. We just want to know why you're doing what you're doing."

"Why I'm dropping bodies isn't your concern." Hector said before Robyn shot back.

"We at least want to know that you're not a threat to Mantle."

Hector then noticed pipes running through the ceiling before he answered back to get them distracted.

"You're own pride is the real threat you excuse of a fucken Huntress."

"You need to watch your mouth-"

*BANG

Before May could finally say something to the bounty hunter, the three Huntresses were temporarily stunned by the smoke emitted by the pipe Hector shot at.

Hector then opened the door to the back before going in the bathroom and using the small window to make his escape. Hector thrived off giving his opponents false information to give him the upper hand.

"May! Try and cut him off! Me and Joanna will go after him." Robyn said before running towards the back.

As both Huntresses ran through the alleyway Joanna said,

"Man this kid is fast."

"Him using the pipe to escape was smart I give him that." Robyn replied as they made it to the main street.

May then pulled out her scroll and called Robyn.

"I don't see him. Do you??"

"Damnit! He got away!" Joanna replied which Robyn pinched the bridge of her nose.
