The chilly night air rushed past them as they fled from the scene of their stolen kiss. Y/N's heart pounded in her chest as she and Hermione sprinted through the carnival, dodging curious onlookers and workers who had tried to confront them.

Hermione's mind was a whirlwind of thoughts, and her breaths came out in short gasps as they ran. She couldn't believe what had just happened on that Ferris Wheel. Everything felt surreal, like a dream she would wake up from any moment.

As they put distance between themselves and the Ferris Wheel, Y/N finally slowed down, coming to a stop near a quiet, dimly lit alley. Her chest heaved as she tried to catch her breath, and she turned to Hermione, who was equally breathless.

"We... we should be safe here," Y/N panted, her voice shaky. She still couldn't bring herself to look Hermione in the eye.

Hermione nodded, her mind racing. She wanted to say something, to make sense of the whirlwind of emotions that had overtaken her, but words failed her. Instead, she reached out and gently touched Y/N's arm, silently conveying her gratitude and understanding.

Y/N finally looked at Hermione, her red eyes filled with a mixture of emotions – guilt, desire, and a hint of fear. "I... I don't know what came over me," she admitted, her voice barely above a whisper.

Hermione shook her head, her own voice trembling as she spoke, "Y/N, I—"

Their eyes locked, and for a moment, it felt like the world had disappeared around them. The carnival's distant laughter and music faded into the background, leaving just the two of them in that quiet alley.

Y/N took a step closer to Hermione, her heart racing once again. The electricity between them was undeniable, and despite the tension that lingered in the air, there were still two little kids that were giggling and kicking their feet inside of them.

Hermione's lips parted, as if she was about to say something, but before any words could escape, Y/N leaned in and kissed her again. It was a softer, more tender kiss than before, filled with the promise of something deeper and more profound.

Hermione couldn't help but replay the taste of Y/N's lips in her mind. It was a complex blend of flavors that she would remember forever:

Sweet, like the spun sugar of the cotton candy they shared.

A hint of warmth and wood, like the trace of cinnamon from the churros they nibbled on.

A subtle tanginess, reminiscent of the lemonade they sipped together.

And underneath it all, a lingering, bittersweet note, echoing the taste of the stolen sip of cherry-grape flavored alcohol.

Hermione's thoughts briefly ventured into imagining what Y/N's tongue might taste like, but she quickly scolded herself, finding such musings inappropriate.
