Ema walked with Aizawa.

She was still proud that she could control the extent of her quirk.

It took a ton of effort but would become easier as she practiced.

"Want to come over?" Aizawa broke the tension looking at her.

"Like to your place?" He nodded.

"Uh yeah sure yeah." Ema stuttered.

"You did good today." Aizawa said.

"Thanks."

~~

Aizawa held the door open and watched as Ema stepped in.

"Are you bleeding?" He noticed her arm was scratched pretty badly.

"No, Shinsou got a good kick in."

"Let me see it," he took her arm in his hand and examined it.

Ema noticed his close they were and watched his face.

She liked how long his eyelashes were. She looked down to his lips.

Aizawa noticed her stare and turned his head towards her.

They were very close. He looked down to her lips. He leaned forward but jumped back hearing a phone ring.

"Sorry-sorry that's uh-my mom called." Ema was blushing. And cursing in her head.

They were so close.

"What?" Aizawa watched Ema walk to his balcony to take the phone call.

Aizawa watched as she lit a cigarette and took a deep breathe. He almost kissed her.

He noticed how her eyes were dark brown but had some specs of grey ish green.

He watched as she spoke and took a drag. He never liked smokers, but when she smoked it was attractive. He didn't know why it was so hot that she did, but he sighed and rubbed his eyes.

"Sorry about that." She tossed the cigarette to her balcony and walked back in.

"Everything okay?"

"Oh yeah. She was pissed about something." Ema shrugged and looked around.

"Your apartment is bigger than mine."

"Yeah. I think as the floors go up, the space gets bigger."

"Interesting."

Ema stood awkwardly a few feet away.

"Want a drink?"

Ema nodded. "Yes please."

~~

The next day, Ema was a mess.

She was leaning against the counter and had her head in her hands while Tanaka worked behind her.

"Here." Her manager thought she had a bad night, so she slide her some coffee.

"Thanks."

"Need to talk about it?" Ema shook her head. It was embarrassing to admit that the small moment that she and Aizawa shared made her heart beat a thousand times faster.

And the dreams she had about him.

He almost kissed her.

Ema knew she was making it up but how close they were.

Ema sipped the coffee and exhaled, tasting the extra expresso.

She put her head in the counter and heard the front door.

"Welcome in!"

She looked up and saw the blonde man.

"Hey how's it going?"

"Hey."

"Black coffee....or ordering for yourself?"

"Black coffee with a shot of expresso. My man is best it seems."

Ema chuckled and gave him the order. "Long night?"

"Yeah. He's been deep in thought all day."

Ema's smile faltered a bit but chuckled.

"On the house."

The man thanked her and walked out.

"You give away a lot of drinks."

"Black coffee is easy to get."

Tanaka rolled his eyes but continued sweeping.

"Okay I need you to actually work." Her manger sternly said.

Ema rolled her eyes, but got to work on organizing the tea bags.

~~

Ema stood in her shower and thought of Aizawa.

Training sucked. She ran more than usual and felt more lonely.

She never felt like she needed a partner. She loved being alone, but when she started liking Aizawa, coming home to be by herself and Koi and in her off days, cleaning and reading. She never realized how lonely she was.

She groaned and finished her shower up and got ready for bed.

~~

Aizawa knew his crush was turning into something more.

Either it was that he was fully showering before seeing Ema or that seeing her smile made his heart beat fast, he always wanted to be near her.

Shinsou told him that he couldn't make it because he had a test to do after school so it would just be Aizawa and Ema.

Aizawa put his hair up and went home to wait until her shift was over.

He showered and did his usual routine.

He saw the time and left.

Ema was waiting and perked up seeing Aizawa.

"It's just exercise today. Shinsou has a test."

Ema nodded and began her warm up.
