Chapter 10- second first impressions

"Spencer what should I wear tonight"
"It doesn't matter" he said not removing his eyes from his book
"Um it absolutely does matter I'm meeting your family for the first time"
"What do you mean You met them last week on Halloween I understand not everyone has an eidetic memory but how do you not remember that" he said putting his book down and walking into the wardrobe where Evelyn sat in a pile of clothes
"Obviously I remember but this is the first proper meeting like last time we scratched the surface and it was a Halloween party I was in a costume I have to look nice this time"
He pulled her up from the floor "you always look nice" and he placed a sweet kiss on her lips
"Ok what colour do you want to wear
She contemplated the question for a moment "navy blue or purple but won't red look nice what about white or maybe I should stick with black that's simple."
"I'm wearing a navy tie?"
"Ok I have navy dresses that will go with navy if I show you them will you pick?"
"Of course" he sat of the floor of the closet as she walked over to the blue section of her dress compartment. She was quite organised well she was very organised.
She showed him three dresses one was sweater dress which she eliminated herself as it wasn't fancy enough then she showed him a dress that hung of the shoulders and came a little ways above the knee. Then she showed him a dark blue dress coated in sparkles there was a small slit in the leg and was about the same length as the previous one"
"Second one the sparkles" she let out a deep breath
"I was gonna wear that one either way ok let me get ready" she laughed as he stood back up
"You have 15 minutes until we have to go" he went back to the living room where grace was now sitting reading his book "ah doctor Reid I assumed you were here, brainiac book gave you away " she teased as she passed him the book
"Looking very dapper tonight where are we of to"
"Rossi's for a dinner party and you, you look a bit over dressed for a night in" just then the door bell rang "one moment sir" she joked as she stood up and walked to the door. "Hey I thought you weren't gonna come you weren't answering" she spoke as she opened the door to Morgan in the doorway "as if I could forget you, hey kid"
"I take it this means your dating"
"Yeah we are but don't tell Evelyn I'm trying to annoy her"
"I literally can hear you" Evelyn said running out while putting her earrings in "should I wear heels"
"You hate wearing heels" Spencer said as he wrapped his arm around her waist. "Yeah but this is important"
"No just wear you converse or something you will actually be comfortable in"
"Find ok I'm ready let's go" she pecked him on the lips as she walked toward the door.

"Your late" Rossi said as he swung the door open
"By three minutes and 26 seconds, I know we're sorry"
"Yeah we'll come in wines on the island everyone else is here apart from Morgan and grace"
"No we're here" Morgan called as he walked up the steps behind Spencer
"We'll come on come in" he ushered them where they were met by the team "most of them she recognised from Halloween "Hotch was the tall one with jet black hair he was talking to Emily she too had her black hair but wore it with bangs.
JJ was talking to Penelope the blond who must have been wearing a wig on Halloween. She had on large heels and a colourful dress.
"Everyone they're here" Rossi called as the four walked inside. Penelope ran up to Evelyn enveloping her in a bear hug. "Nice to meet you again." She released her from
"I'm still a bit salty it took three years " she looked at Spencer
"Better late then never?" He said as he made his way towards JJ
"Ok the food should be ready who wants to eat"there was a chorus of cheers as they made their way out side and sat down to eat.
Everyone started to eat "questo è così bello"
"You speak Italian?" Rossi inquired
"molto bello ben fatto"
"Unfortunately the rest of the table don't speak Italian"
"He said very nice well done" Reid interjected
"For god sakes how many languages do you know now Reid"
"Um eight but I can only speak five"
"I speak a language he doesn't don't you think that's crazy" Evelyn smiled as she spoke
"How comes Italian" JJ questioned
"Oh my dad lived there for like 10 years and met my mum in an airport on the way back to England"
"Thats is SO cool have you ever been"
"Oh yeah we used to go on holiday there all the time and I used to bring my friends we had family who lived there one of my some of my  mates lives there now "
"God I always forget your British you have a really good American accent on tv" Emily fawned
"So does anyone want any more wine" Rossi asked waving a bottle around
"I'll have some " JJ said pointing her glass out
"Me to" Emily following in suit
"In desperate need" Grace held out her glass
"Im good thanks thought" Spencer declined sticking with his water
"Ill stick with water tonight"
"No wine all night the girl I met on Halloween is not here" Penelope joked
They sat and they talked and they laughed for hours and as the night slowly dwindled she felt as though she was with family. She already had a chosen family she had Spencer and Grace kiara and friends back in England; Charlie Ella ivy. But some extra additions may not be such a bad thing
