Sunday - Race Day - Great Britain

"You're 0.7 seconds behind Leclerc."

"Box for softs, box for softs."

"0.2 seconds behind Russell. You're 0.1 seconds per lap quicker."

"Estimated to be P2 again in 7 laps. Then 13 laps the opportunity to pass Leclerc."

"P3, gap to Norris is 0.3 seconds. Sainz is 1.4 seconds behind you."

"Fuck!" I cursed and slammed on my steering wheel. "Sorry, guys. I really tried overtaking him."

Charles' red Ferrari crossed the finish line first, with a 0.101 difference I crossed second. I slammed my steering again before driving into Parc Fermé.

I wanted to curse some more, so I switched off the radio. I didn't want to get out of this car and pretend I was happy with P2. I was everything but happy about it.

Thank God my Dad wasn't here today, I would've had to sit through an entire speech of him again, and I loved listening to his advice, I wanted to improve myself each race and my Dad was my biggest supporter and motivator, but today just didn't quite butch.

I felt a tap on my helmet and saw Charles standing next to my car, I let him help me get out of the car and I gave him a pat on his shoulder back.

Then, I watched him go to Arthur, who was standing in between all the mechanics and engineers, and so was Jasmine.

"Congratulations," I felt another tap on my shoulder and saw a smiling Lando standing next to me.

"Thanks, mate. You too! A podium in your home race is amazing."

"Thanks," He smiled and walked off to weigh himself.

I took off my helmet, annoyance probably readable from my face. Second place is the first loser. I rather not finish the race than become second.

The podium was planned fast, barely giving us the time to cool down in the cooldown room. I stood on the second highest step, my eyes scanning the people below me. Christian, Marko, G.P., a lot of mechanics and engineers, obviously the same for Charles' and Lando's team.

Jasmine was nowhere to be found between the wave of red-dressed people. Maybe for the race, she was hiding in the VIP facilities.
