Caleb's Perspective-

I smiled, looking at the exam results.

"Nice job, Caleb." Professor Hasley said, nodding at me.

I smiled and left for lunch.

As I did, I couldn't help but feel lonely.

We had searched the entire castle after Shelby left, and everyone concluded that Shelby had ran away.

Rumors were that she ran away since she was going to get expelled.

I was always worried about that day.

That day she would get expelled.

I never thought she would run away though.

I mean, I guess it makes sense as she doesn't have a place to stay, but I'm still worried about her.

She's dealing with so much, and she doesn't let anyone into her life.

She also always talks herself down and never accepts the fact that she is an amazing person.

I still feel bad that the last thing I told her was for her to leave me alone for studying.

I guess I'm really more attached to my studies than my friends.

I walked out to lunch and saw that other kids were going through their mail.

I sighed, wishing that Shelby would write me.

I was worried sick about her.

I didn't know where she was, whether or not she was safe, I knew nothing.

For the first time in my life, I knew nothing.

There wasn't a book or someone that could help me figure it out.

I then decided that if Shelby wasn't going to write me, then I was going to write her.

Hopefully my owl will find her.

I took out parchment and started scribbling down a letter.

-

Dear Shelby,

I don't know if you will ever get this, but hi. How's it been. I wanted to apologize for the way I acted about exams. I hope you're okay and I'm worried sick about you. I never thought you would run away like that, especially since you have nowhere to go.'

I paused, thinking about what else to write.

There was so much I wanted to tell her, but I didn't know how to put it into words.

So I finished it off with,

'Get back to me soon,
Caleb'

I then got up and walked to my dorm.

I opened the door and saw my owl, Klara, cleaning her wings.

"Try and find Shelby." I whispered, petting her softly.

Klara hooted at me, and I smiled, attaching the letter to her leg.

"Good luck." I said, watching as Klara unfurled her wings and flew off.
