Yvaine's POV

Exhausted from the previous day's travel, I woke up in my bed at the palace. My mother welcomed us with open arms, inviting us to stay as long as we needed. It was a shock to my friends, especially since they were the first surfacers to ever travel to the Serephine Domain.

As we ventured deeper into the underwater kingdom, I couldn't help but notice my friends' awe-struck expressions. The Serephine Domain was a vivid display of colors and life, with coral reefs adorned in hues of every shade imaginable. Schools of vibrant fish darted playfully through the crystal-clear waters, their scales shimmering like a living tapestry. Our domain wasn't known as the "Pearl of the Sea" for no reason.

Merfolk moved gracefully through the bustling streets, their magnificent tails gliding effortlessly. Each merperson had a unique appearance, reflecting their individuality and personal style. Some sported intricate shells and pearls woven into their hair, while others adorned themselves with delicate seaweed jewelry. Everywhere we looked, there was a dazzling array of colors, illuminating the underwater world with an ethereal radiance.

The cityscape itself was a breathtaking sight to behold. Elaborate structures crafted from luminescent materials lined the ocean floor, exuding an otherworldly glow. The architecture seamlessly blended the ancient heritage of our kingdom with modern elements from the surface world, creating an enchanting fusion of cultures.

The bustling markets were a sensory delight, filled with the scents of exotic underwater flora and the melodious chatter of merfolk bartering and trading. Little merfolk swam around, their laughter echoing through the water as they played games with friendly aquatic creatures.

At first, our arrival garnered curious glances from the merfolk residents, unsure of what to make of the first visitors from the wizarding world. However, as they saw the bond between me and my friends, the initial hesitance transformed into warm welcomes and eager invitations to explore their world.

Ominis and Sebastian gripped each other's hands tightly, their eyes wide with wonder. The once-foreign surroundings soon felt familiar and inviting, a testament to the harmony that existed between the merfolk and their aquatic home. Both occasionally gazing at me with a new found respect.

As we spent our days in the Serephine Domain, my friends marveled at the beauty and vibrancy of our underwater kingdom. They were captivated by the colorful marine life and the enchanting merfolk culture that pulsed through every aspect of daily life.

As we had anticipated, shortly after our arrival at the palace, the effects of the gillyweed started to wear off, and my friends needed to ingest more. The alchemists began working diligently on finding a better temporary solution. Everyone was shown to their respective rooms with their own attendants on hand to assist them with anything they might need. Personally, I swam to check on them one last time before retreating to my own room. My ladies-in-waiting greeted me warmly, though they were surprised to see me back so soon, as it had only been a few weeks since my last visit.

Settling onto the edge of my balcony, I gazed out towards the vast expanse of the Seraphine Domain. The sight was both calming and breathtaking, with the colorful marine life and bustling merfolk filling the underwater kingdom with vibrancy. Lost in my thoughts, I was interrupted by a knock on my door.

"Princess... Guardian Alaric is here to see you," Anetta, my longest-serving lady-in-waiting, informed me before ushering him in and shutting the door behind her.

"Alaric!" I exclaimed, swimming into his arms, surprising him with my display of platonic affection. Indeed, we seldom showed such emotions publicly, but these were extraordinary circumstances. He wrapped his arms around me, holding me securely and resting his chin on top of my head.
