"Hey, Nanami," you jogged to catch up to him. You didn't need to, because he stopped in his path down the corridor, looking back at you. You finally caught up to him, handing him his phone. "You left this."He looked a little surprised with himself as he took his phone off you, "Thank you."
"You're not usually one to leave your things like that," you teased, smiling lightly.
His frown was a bit more deep than usual as he stared down at the device, mumbling out, "Yeah, that's strange."
You frowned, noticing his change in demeanour. "Hey, are you alright?"
He blinked at you, nodding his head and putting his phone in the pocket inside his blazer. "Yes, of course."
There was an awkward moment of silence, until you asked, "So you're going to the charity event?"
"Yes," Nanami nodded, easing back into his pace so you would walk with him. "One of Gojo's associates invited me to go with them after they met me when he took me last year."
"Ah," you said quietly, getting lost in thought. You never wondered if Gojo took Haruka to those events, you just assumed he had. To be fair, they'd only been together for a couple of years, and it was an annual event. But he seemed so into her. So of course you were a little confused why he took Nanami with him. Especially since Nanami probably hadn't been so keen on the idea. You asked, "How many times has Gojo taken you to those events?"
"Well, he's been taking me for the last six or seven years—"
You halted, looking up at him. "What?"
Nanami looked at you. "Why not take Haruka?"
"Yeah," you frowned, shoving your hands on your hips. "He never brought her up when it came to taking her to the event?"
Nanami seemed to pause himself, thinking for a moment before tilting his head slightly and saying, "No."
You sighed in frustration, dropping your head in exhaustion. "I can't keep doing this, it's driving me nuts. I'm missing so many pieces and neither one of them are giving me anything. Aside from Haruka's reaction when I lowkey accused her of cheating."
"You think she's cheating?" was Nanami's almost-immediate response.
"Yeah," you mumbled to yourself. "She got really nervous when I suggested it. Then she just up and left."
Nanami hummed, not saying anything as he frowned in thought as well. Before you could tell him anything else, your phone rang. You took it out, looking at the screen. Gojo's name popped up, and you sighed before picking it up. "Yes, princess?"
"(Y/N), help, Megumi's getting hit on," Gojo's panicked tone came through the speaker.
"You did not just call me because your teenage son is getting asked out," you deadpanned, waving goodbye at Nanami as he nodded and left.
"That's our teenage son, thank you very much," was his snarky reply as you made your way out of Jujutsu High.
"Please don't conduct Formation B again," you sighed, exasperated as you left the building and made your way to the front gates. "Just leave the poor kid alone. He just wants to be a real boy."
"I can't allow this to happen," Gojo said, and you heard some noisy shuffling on his end.
"Gojo?" you frowned, stopping once you got to your car. "Hello?"
