Much to your dismay, you drove with Gojo to Jujutsu High. After the little argument you both had, he stiffly told you that he would be waiting in the car. You didn't need to gather anything to take back to his apartment, it was all still there. You just grabbed your bag, locked your house and awkwardly got in his car.

Once you had both arrived, Nanami was waiting by his car in his usual parking spot. You and Gojo got out of the car, and Gojo paid no mind to Nanami, looking at you and quietly saying, "See you inside."

You didn't say anything, just watched him walk stiffly into the school. You swallowed the lump that had been resting in your throat the entire car ride, turning around and making your way over to Nanami. He waited until you stopped about five feet away from him. It took you a minute to say anything, your heart beating fast in your chest in panic. Your mind was racing with questions. With the possible answers you might receive. With the possible answers you were afraid to receive. "Hey," you whispered.

"Good morning," Nanami replied. It was always hard to tell whether Nanami was nervous, given that he was always so good at hiding it. "How have you been?"

You didn't answer that question. It was a dumb one to begin with, and he knew that. All you said was, "I've got a list, just so you know."

Nanami nodded, not even surprised that you were getting straight to the point. "I figured you would."

Your eyes flicked up to him, and you wanted to scream at him upon seeing his usual neutral face. Clearing your throat, you stood up straighter before asking, "Tell your side of things and I'll ask anything else I want to know. Starting with when you started talking to Haruka. And tell the truth, for the love of god."

Nanami nodded, leaning against his car slowly. "I started talking to Haruka a couple of days after she visited you here."

You sucked in a breath. That long.

He continued, "I wanted to help you and Gojo in some way. Help you get him and her back together."

You scrunched your eyebrows momentarily, but let him continue speaking. You and Gojo had it under control at that point. Why did Nanami feel the need to step in?

"I started talking with her and just going to get coffee with her, tried to get her to open up to me and explain what was really going on. And at first I thought I had it. At first she told me that it was because Gojo wasn't around enough. That he was using her as an accessory, and that he was faking his love for her."

You couldn't help your scoff, "And you believed that?"

"No," Nanami said after a moment. "I'd walked in on them making out too many times to believe what she said. But I figured that was just how she felt."

You nodded. That was valid. Some people needed a lot of attention from their partner in order to get by.

"But then that had been the last time I'd spoken to her before she approached me and Gojo. That day I was trying to distract him for you," he leaned further against his car, and you recalled the day you were trying your best to apologise to Gojo, something you still to that day didn't know what happened. Nanami continued, "And then, as you remember, she told him she cheated on him. And that confused everyone, and so I met up with her again, trying to clarify things."

"So did she?" you asked, shifting your weight to your other foot. "Clarify, I mean."

Nanami shook his head, looking off to the side, the wind picking up a light breeze. "Not enough for me to grasp a steady storyline. She said he wasn't around enough, and that she suspected he was cheating. But then she said never mind, it was her that cheated. She was stumbling over her words a lot. And before I could ask her anything else, she invited me to the charity event."
