"So what's the plan now?"
It was a good question. A great question, actually. Too bad you didn't have an answer for it. "Eh."
Your teenage son— sorry: Megumi — was sitting next to you on the hill overlooking the field as Itadori and Nobara were wobbling precariously on their hands, attempting to beat one another at handstands. So far they were sitting at 4:1, Nobara taking the lead. You didn't have much to teach them for the moment, so you let them entertain themselves.
"I think he's an idiot," Megumi said, leaning back on his hands and watching his two friends as they attempted to knock each other over, impressively remaining on one hand the entire time.
You just hummed, shutting your eyes. "I don't think I've got a right to do or say anything about it. It's his decision."
Megumi gave you a quick side-eye, before looking back ahead of him and saying, "Well now you're an idiot."
"Megumi, that's not nice."
"It's the truth."
"That could've been my thirteenth reason."
"You've gotten about a thousand of them and you're still here. I think you'll be okay."
You chuckled lightly, dropping your head. Sighing dramatically, you fell back on the hill. "Why is my student giving me therapy?"
"Full offence, I think he's legally your son at this point," Nobara called out from her and Itadori's spot, which was a full fifty metres away. "If Gojo has known him since a kid, and you've known Gojo since he met Megumi."
"I think it's more joint custody at this point," you mumbled, not directly agreeing but agreeing nonetheless. You sat up, turned to Megumi, placed a gentle hand on his shoulder and said, "Sweetie, your father and I are getting a divorce."
"Please stop," Megumi mumbled.
"Honey, I know this is gonna be really hard for you. And your father and I are really trying to make it work—"
"No you're not—"
"— but he's a cheating, lying son of a bitch who's been spending all our money and life savings at the casino at Las Vangelos—"
"Las what?"
You slowly adopted a New York accent without realising it, "— and your father likes to go drinking with the boys at the diner and—"
"The boys? Diner?"
Your exaggerated and definitely-not-true-to-life New York accent got thicker, "— and the fact is that I love your father, I really do. But I just can't stand the man sometimes. And it's time I find someone who appreciates me."
"Jesus Christ," Megumi mumbled, eyes widening a little bit. Itadori started laughing, and he eventually fell, crying out in despair as Nobara laughed at him from her position upside-down.
"That's five!" you announced, clapping your hands and standing up. "Congrats to our victor, Nobara Kugisaki! Now it's Megumi versus Itadori."
"(Y/N)?"
You froze, and your three students went silent. Slowly, you turned around, feeling your heart clench in on itself. "Haruka."
There she stood, in all her deceptive glory. Smiling, but not her usual way. You could see it. The evil glint in her eye. A corner of her mouth raised just a little more than the other. Her eyes slightly hooded. Then, with a sickly sweet tone, asked, "Gojo asked for me, do you have any idea where he could be?"
