You knocked on Gojo's desk once you stopped in front of it. His head was down, focused purely on his phone as he played Honkai Star Rail. "Gojo."

He let out a small distracted hum as he continued playing the game, his neck craned down in an unhealthy way.

You sighed, dread filling your soul as you said, "Can we talk?"

He let out another distracted noise of acknowledgment, and you squeezed your eyes shut. The longer you had to wait to tell him, the more overwhelmed you were going to feel. "Gojo, please. I need to talk to you."

His eyes shifted up to look at you, almost immediate in response to your words. He could hear the desperate tone, and he placed his phone on his desk, turning it off. Quietly, he asked, "Are you alright?"

He was unsure if he should ask, you could tell. There was still some awkwardness from your fight earlier, which was going to make the information you had to tell him even harder to absorb. You were honest with your answer, "No."

"Okay," he said softly, the earlier awkwardness from earlier almost disappearing as he leant forward on his desk, eyes searching yours. "What's going on?"

Nanami walked in, and Gojo's eyes immediately shifted to him. His gaze shifted back to you, then back to Nanami, and a glare began to form. You toward him slightly as you said quietly, "Can we just. . . Talk somewhere else? Outside or something?"

Gojo looked back at you before nodding his head and standing up. He took another glance at Nanami, an edge to his look as he left the staff room. You hesitantly looked back at Nanami before you left, and he looked at you from his desk, eyes watching you carefully. Quietly, he asked, "You'll be alright?"

Of course you weren't going to be alright. This was going to determine whether Gojo truly still wanted to go back to Haruka. Whether or not he loved her so much that he was willing to overlook all the things she'd done just to be with her again. Whether or not he truly did confuse his feelings with you. And you hated yourself for the panicked feeling that last thought left.

You just nodded your head silently and left the room.

Given that the students were outside, Gojo instead walked into an empty classroom, opening the door and letting you walk in before closing it behind you again.

You nervously leant against a desk, leg shaking restlessly as you watched him lock the door. He turned to face you, leaning back against it. "What did you need to talk to me about?"

You decided to get straight to the point. Taking in a long and shaky breath, you tried to calm your heart before you asked, "Was Haruka always nice? Like, angelic nice? Or was that only around other people?"

Gojo blinked at the question, like he wasn't expecting you to ask about Haruka at all. "Uh. . ." he shrugged his shoulders, "She was always really nice around other people. I just figured she was being polite. Why, what's going on?"

You let out a small 'fuck' to yourself. "So, what was she like when you both were alone?"

Gojo frowned in confusion at you. "I don't know where this is going."

"Gojo, just answer the question," you let out in exasperation.

He threw a hand up, indicating he wasn't exactly sure of his answer. "I guess she was neutral around me."

      "What does that mean?"

"Like. . ." he slowly made his way over to you, leaning against the desk across from you, so now there's was only a couple of feet of distance between you two. "It's not that she wasn't being nice anymore. She just wasn't the same as she was out in public. As soon as we would get home, she would become almost mute, and was sighing like she was always bored. And whenever I would try to give her attention, she'd tell me to leave her alone. But it wasn't always like that."
