INT. OFFICE BUILDING - OPEN HOUSE - DAY

Sam is offered an hors d'oeuvre by a server. She shakes her head to politely decline. Gia walks over.

GIA

Ok we're outta here.

SAM

This was the 3rd office space you hated. What's wrong this time?

GIA

There is absolutely no natural sunlight in here. I hate florescent lights.

SAM

We'll change the bulbs!

GIA

Look, if we want to reel in big clients our office space has to have that look.

SAM

What look?

GIA

Gia helps herself to the snack table.

INT. OFFICE BUILDING - OPEN HOUSE - DAY

Gia is eating from her snack plate as Sam picks up a real estate brochure from the table.

SAM

Did you visit any of the schools on the list I gave you?

GIA

I did! Thanks by the way. Tanya will now be a sophomore at PCHS.

SAM

So you didn't go the private school route?

GIA

She begged me not to. Says private school kids like to flex too much.

SAM

Danny is starting at PCHS this year. Will her dad be at orientation?

Gia tenses up.

GIA

Her dad won't be there.

SAM

Oh. Does he travel for work as well?

GIA

I have no idea.

Sam gives her a strange look.

SAM

I'm sorry, I shouldn't have asked.

GIA

It's fine. Tanya's father isn't in her life.

SAM

I didn't mean to pry.

GIA

You're not. I gave him the option to be involved and he opted out. So it's just been the two of us.

SAM

I say do what you gotta do.

GIA

Which is why I get so pissed when I think about my brother's situation. He is such a good man who loved being a father. Portia just used him and when it didn't benefit her anymore... it just...ugh! Anyway...
