Edgeworth's POV
After a second Wright hugs me back and I feel relieved. I'm not too good with these things, like when do you let go of a hug? People would find this sad to admit but I don't think I've been hugged since father died and that was by Franny.
"Are you...okay?" I ask
"Yes, I'm fine, yes." He replies, pulling back.I know he is not but I don't press it. I awkwardly pull away as well. Though in that moment it still seems as though we are still too close. We sit there, staring at each other and I find my gaze landing upon his lips. And... nope. I get up rather quickly, startling Wright, as I laugh nervously.
"Well, I suppose I better get home."
Pheonix gives one solid nod before saying, "Are you sure you'll be okay out there?"
"Don't be ridiculous, why wouldn't I be?"
Another sound of thunder sounds out as if it's answering my question and Wright laughs slightly.
"Does that answer your question."
I clear my throat. I don't like that he knows thunder scares me. I don't like that he knows that earthquakes and power outages do too. I don't like people knowing these things, as there's no need for them to know what makes me vulnerable.
"I have a car. I will be fine."
"You're always welcomed here."
"Thank you, but I am going now."
"Goodnight, Miles." Again, Miles.
"Goodnight, Wright." I offer him a small smile before walking out.
