Chapter 52

The Ex-Girlfriend's Side

"Wala ka pa ring mahanap na gift for Storm?"

Jamie asked as she eyed the shopping bags my bodyguards were holding. I recently learned that my love language for friends and family is gifts. Siguro dahil bihira na lang din ako makahanap ng time for them to do 'acts of service' or just to simple spend time with them.

So I hope with these thoughtfully bought gifts, maramdaman nila na mahalaga sila sa akin.

I am THE gift.

"I mean, marami namang pwede ibigay na gift for him but it's our first Christmas together. I want to make everything about it special, including my gifts for him."

Louisse raised the shopping bags in her hands before my bodyguards took them from her and Jamie. "Well, J and I are done shopping for gifts. We can help you find the perfect gift for your man."

I eyed their shopping bags, as if makikita ko kung anong laman ng mga ito. "Anong gifts niyo sa partners niyo? I need all the ideas, pero hindi ko gagayahin 'yun inyo. I swear."

Jamie smiled thinking of the gift she bought for her husband. "I bought River a sports watch. He needs it for his training and workouts."

"That's a great gift," I smiled at my unusually mellow friend. Then I brought my attention to Louisse. "Ikaw L? Anong gift mo for Kade?"

She shrugged. "I bought 3 polo shirts from Penguin. He can wear them for his golf outings."

"Damn." "Should I just buy him a pair of sneakers?"

L rolled her eyes. "Don't be basic."

"You're the one who bought her boyfriend polo shirts, tapos ako ang basic?"

Tinaasan ako nito ng kilay. "Well, I'm not a model, am I? You have the budget."

"I have an idea! Since he's looking for a new job, why don't you buy him something he can use for his future new work?"

I perked up at the idea. Thoughtful, practical, and sweet! The best kind of gift!

Louisse jumped in excitement. "Ohh! That's a great idea, you can get him a work bag with a personalized tag."

Jamie pointed in the general direction where we passed some of the high-end stores here in Greenbelt. "I think I saw a Tumi store. Diba they can make personal tags for bags?"

I linked both of my arms through theirs and pulled them toward the high-end section of the mall. "Let's go get my boyfriend a new workbag!"

In the end, I ended up buying him a new work bag and a wallet. On his wallet, I had his initials SYO stamped while on his work bag, the girls teased—well, pushed me to have my initials stamped on it. But with an added letter.

AFO

I loved it... and I hope he'll love it, too. Lalo na't ilang beses na siya nagparamdam sa intensions niya, about how serious and sure he already is about our future. This will help me show that I, too, am sure about him.

I will be an Ongpauco, too.

Not now. But soon.

"Gusto ko rin mag-regalo ng personalized shit sa mga anak ko. Pag-iipunan ko talaga 'yan para sa future birthdays nila," she said while looking at the bags in the store with longing.
