I froze staring at Daniel. He froze as well and by the way he was standing he didnt think he would bump into us. I turned my head slowly and saw the sadness in Isabelle's eyes.
I growled causing her to turn her head at me, she gripped my hand tightly and reassuringly as I kiss her forehead.
"Umm hey" Isabelle says to Daniel who offers a smile. The look in his eyes looked sad but he still managed to be mature
"Hey" he says and slowly walks passed us when Isabelle stops. She squeezes my hand making me look at her.
I hadn't realised I was watching Daniel walk away
"I have to talk to him"
"No" I growl
"Baby, I. Love. You" she smiles up at me "He is still my best friend, I won't go anywhere where you can't see me ok?" She tugged on my hand but I tightened my hold and pulled her close
"Remember you are mine" I say with a growl
"I am forever yours" she says pecking me on the lips "I'll be right back... Wait here" she says and walks towards Daniel "Daniel wait!" She calls out
I watch as he turns his head slowly and see him taking a deep breath as he sees Isabelle approaching.
She smiles at him and I could tell he is trying to smile back at her but couldn't as he looked back at me then slowly turned his gaze back to Isabelle.
"Do you trust her?" I snap my head towards the voice and see Sienna standing there
I nod my head "But you don't trust him" she states making me nod "He is my mate and I trust him... Alpha Mason spoke to him the other night and told him they need to sort out their differences before tonight otherwise he cannot take the beta position"
My eyes widen "He loves her but he realises now its a love he has for a best friend, I've slowly come to terms with it... I understand she was his first love, I had a first but now I'm his last" she pulled her shirt back revealing her mark to me. I sighed in relief at the sight as we both watch them now smiling. It wasn't a smile like they were in love, it was a best friend kind of smile
"He missed his best friend"
"She missed hers too" I say to Sienna who was now standing beside me watching them closely
"He wasn't complete without her and you know that... It was hard for me to accept that side but some of the things they have been through as friends even shocked me... Do you have a best friend like that, that would cut you right to the core if you lost them in any way?" I look over at Blake who was smiling down at Melane who was laughing at something he said
"And thats how he felt... I know when we first met I seemed like a bit of a bitch, but wouldn't you when you see Isabelle for the first time? He told me she is pretty but she is fucking stunning" I smile full of pride as her description of my mate
"Its ok" I say "First step to acceptance is being the bigger person, maybe I will accept Daniel soon but not just yet" I say as she offers a small smile
"Thats a start" she says walking away towards them as Isabelle walks back, Isabelle looks hesitant at her as I see Sienna look back and give me a nod. I see Daniel watching Sienna smiling at her. Isabelle frowns and gives me a questioning look striding over to me with a woman on a mission type of stride
"What was that all about?" She asks as I pull her under my arm walking away towards the hair dressers. Blake and Melanie waiting outside the salon
"We just had a few friendly words" I say to her and kiss her forehead.
