Goku was found in the middle of the forest by an old man named Gohan when he was just a newborn baby. Gohan took in Goku and raised him as his own and taught the child martial arts.
However, one day, a giant monster suddenly appeared out of nowhere and killed Gohan, leaving Goku all by himself in the forest. Goku would later be visited by one of Gohan's friends, Makarov who took Goku in and made him join his guild, Fairy Tail.
