THIRD PERSON POV:

Quinn stared at the ornate invitation in his hands, the embossed letters announcing the upcoming wedding of his cousin, Emily. It was a joyous occasion, and Quinn couldn't imagine celebrating it without his closest confidant, his best friend since childhood, Y/N.

He took a deep breath and mustered the courage to extend the invitation. Fidgeting with the edge of the paper, Quinn dialed Y/N's number. The familiar voice on the other end of the line brought a sense of comfort.

"Hey, Y/N, it's Quinn," he began, trying to sound casual despite the nervous flutter in his stomach. "Listen, my cousin Emily is getting married next month, and I was wondering if you'd like to be my plus one?"

There was a pause on the line before Y/N's warm laughter filled Quinn's ears. "Of course, I'd love to come! It's been ages since we attended a family event together. Thanks for thinking of me."

Quinn's heart skipped a beat. "Great! It's at this beautiful venue by the lake. You know, the one with fairy lights and all that romantic stuff." He chuckled, trying to brush off the mention of romance as a casual remark.

As they continued discussing the details, Quinn couldn't help but smile. The prospect of sharing this special day with her filled him with excitement and nervous energy. Little did she know that for Quinn, the wedding wasn't just about family; it was a chance for him to finally reveal the feelings he had harbored for his best friend over the years.

As the conversation ended, Quinn hung up, feeling a mix of anticipation and anxiety. The wedding would be a celebration of love, but Quinn couldn't help but wonder if it could also be the beginning of something more – a chance to turn a long-time friendship into something more profound.

As the days and weeks passed, the insatiable feeling of hundreds of butterflies in Quinn's stomach grew.

QUINN'S POV:

My family and I had already been at the venue for an hour or so while they were waiting for the ceremony to start; I sat nervously waiting for her arrival.

As I sat waiting, I felt my phone buzz in the pocket of my suit.

Her name and contact picture flashed on the screen--I eagerly picked up the call, and the quiet humming of her car sounded as I did.
