Xu Zheng was overseeing the progress of the stone floor installation when he noticed one of the workers, Li Na, taking extra care in fitting each stone into place.

"You're doing a fine job there, Li Na," Xu Zheng said, walking over to where the worker was kneeling. "You have a good eye for detail."

Li Na looked up, a slight smile on his face. "Thank you, Xu Zheng. I want to make sure the floor is perfect. It's the foundation of the home, after all."

Xu Zheng nodded, impressed by the worker's dedication. "That's true. And I appreciate your attention to detail. It shows that you take pride in your work."

Li Na stood up, brushing off his hands. "I do. It's not just a job to me. It's a chance to create something beautiful and lasting."

Xu Zheng could see the passion in Li Na's eyes and felt a sense of respect for the worker. "That's a good attitude to have. And I think you're succeeding in creating something beautiful. These stone floors are going to be a wonderful addition to our home."

Li Na nodded, a look of satisfaction on his face. "I'm glad you think so, Xu Zheng. And I promise to continue doing my best to ensure the floors are everything you hoped for."

Xu Zheng smiled, feeling grateful for the hard work and dedication of Li Na and the other workers. "Thank you, Li Na. I appreciate all that you're doing to help us create a beautiful and functional home."

As Xu Zheng walked away, he couldn't help but feel a sense of gratitude and admiration for the workers who were helping to transform their home. He knew that the renovations were about more than just the physical changes to the house - they were also about the connections and relationships that were being forged along the way.

. . . . .

Xu Zheng set off into the woods early in the morning, carrying a basket and a small knife for harvesting herbs. He already knew which plants to look for, based on their medicinal properties. As he walked through the forest, he couldn't help but marvel at the abundance of nature around him. The trees were tall and majestic, and the ground was covered in a variety of plants and flowers.

Xu Zheng came across a patch of ginseng, known for its ability to boost energy and improve overall well-being. He carefully dug up the roots, making sure not to damage the surrounding area.

Next, he found a stand of Chinese milkvetch, which was believed to have anti-inflammatory and immunostimulatory properties. He carefully collected the pods and seeds, adding them to his basket.

As he continued his search, Xu Zheng couldn't help but think about his plans for the herbs he was collecting. He knew that he could supply a local pharmacist, but he was also considering opening his own shop.

He imagined himself tending to his own garden of medicinal herbs, carefully nurturing them to maximize their potency. He pictured himself helping the people in the nearby town, providing them with natural remedies for their ailments.

As the sun began to set, and the afternoon rolled in, Xu Zheng made his way back to the village, his basket full of carefully selected herbs. He knew that he had a long road ahead of him, but he was excited to pursue his dreams and make a positive impact on his community.

Xu Zheng arrived back at his home, his legs tired but his spirit invigorated.

. . . . .

Xu Zheng set up a workspace in the kitchen, laying out the herbs he collected on the table. He smiled as his children, Huang Hua and Huang Xu, eagerly gathered around him, curious to learn about the medicine-making process.

"Today, we're going to make a herbal tea that can help boost the immune system," Xu Zheng explained, sorting through the herbs.

Huang Hua, the older brother, carefully picked up a bundle of Chinese milkvetch. "What is this one for?" he asked, his eyes shining with interest.

"This is called Chinese milkvetch, and it's believed to have anti-inflammatory and immunostimulatory properties," Xu Zheng replied. "It can help strengthen the body's defenses against illnesses."

Huang Xu, the younger sister, reached for a handful of ginseng roots. "And what about this one?" she asked, her small fingers gently touching the gnarled roots.

"Ah, ginseng," Xu Zheng said, taking the roots from Huang Xu's hands and showing her how to clean and cut them. "Ginseng is known for boosting energy and improving overall well-being. It's a valuable herb in traditional medicine."

Xu Zheng showed Huang Hua and Huang Xu how to properly prepare and measure the herbs, explaining their properties and benefits as they worked.

"Now, let's boil the herbs together to make the tea," Xu Zheng said, filling a pot with water and setting it on the stove. "Once the tea is ready, we'll strain out the herbs and let it cool before drinking."

Huang Hua and Huang Xu watched eagerly as their father worked, asking questions and learning about the medicinal properties of the herbs.

As the tea steeped, Xu Zheng felt a sense of pride in passing on his knowledge to his children. He knew that, with their eagerness to learn and their growing understanding of medicinal herbs, they would be able to carry on his legacy and help others in their community.

Finally, the tea was ready. Xu Zheng poured the steaming liquid into cups and handed one to each of his children. "To good health," he said, raising his cup in a toast.

Huang Hua and Huang Xu echoed his words, taking sips of the tea and savoring the earthy, herbal taste.

Xu Zheng smiled, knowing that he was not only providing for his family, but also teaching them valuable skills that would serve them well throughout their lives.

. . . . .

Xu Zheng sat on a stool in front of his house, his hands moving deftly as he knitted a new sweater for the upcoming winter. The sun was shining, and he enjoyed the peacefulness of the afternoon.

Suddenly, he heard the sound of footsteps approaching, and he looked up to see his six-year-old daughter, Huang Xu, running toward him, a large smile on her face.

"Bàba, bàba, look what I drew!" she exclaimed, waving a piece of paper in her hand.Xu Zheng set down his knitting and held out his arms, inviting Huang Xu to sit on his lap. "Let's see what you've created, my little artist," he said, taking the paper from her hand.

He admired the colorful drawing, which depicted their family standing in front of their home, holding hands and smiling. "This is beautiful, Huang Xu. You've captured our family perfectly."

Huang Xu beamed with pride. "Thank you, Bàba. I'm going to draw more pictures of our family and hang them on the wall!"

Xu Zheng kissed the top of her head, feeling grateful for his daughter's creativity and joy. "I can't wait to see your artwork on display, sweetheart. Now, why don't we go inside and show fùqin your masterpiece?"

Together, they stood up and walked hand in hand into the house, ready to share Huang Xu's drawing with the rest of the family. As they stepped through the door, Xu Zheng couldn't help but feel a sense of contentment, knowing that his family was his greatest treasure.
