Chapter 1: A Sacrifice
It was a windy night. The wind was so cold it could send shivers down your spine. The night made it more creepier to have those get lost in the forest. …So, you think there was gonna be some sort of sleepover happening, right? …Well, you're wrong. Things have changed now and things will change again when a critter sacrifices themself from a… duel gone wrong.
Boom! An explosion went off in the middle of the forest.
Someone was sliding back on their hooves from a powerful attack. A young unicorn critter was frustrated from the attack. She was confused and had no idea what to do next. She was silent and was even shaking a bit. Her opponent was a mysterious individual in a black robe. He laughed menacingly.
“What's the matter, CraftyCorn?” He said, “You're not holding back like the duels you have!”
CraftyCorn… She was struggling to find words to say as she saw something appearing in the sky.
Boom! Another explosion went off. A giant hummingbird in black and with yellow ancient marks of some sort all over it slowly took shape.
Meanwhile, two individuals were running in the forest, trying to find someone that they know. One was a purple cat and the other was an orange dog. They saw the giant hummingbird forming in the air and it roared.
“What is that?!” The orange dog shouted,
“I don't know, but it better not kill her!” The purple cat shouted back in response,
CraftyCorn meanwhile was still struggling to stay up as she seemed to be weakened from the attack.
“It's… my turn.” She said as she places her fingers on the top card of her deck in some sort of strange device,
CraftyCorn then closed her eyes and thinks for a moment.
“Come on, deck, have faith in me!” She said in her mind, “This is a do or die situation!”
CraftyCorn opened her eyes and grew serious.
“I draw!” She shouted as she drew the top card from her deck,
CraftyCorn looked at the only card she has in her hands and was shocked to see what it was.
“...The Weather Forecast…” She said in disbelief, “My favorite card… It didn't help me from the start…”
CraftyCorn dropped the card from her hands and fell to her knees, in defeat.
“It's over…” She said,
The black robed individual laughed menacingly.
“Looks like you've given up!” He said,
“...If I die, I don't want you to ever lay a hand on my friends!” CraftyCorn said, “This is only a sacrifice that I will gladly accept!”
“Oh, really? Well, consider it done!”
The purple cat and orange dog meanwhile were still running as they found CraftyCorn, defeated.
“CraftyCorn!” The purple cat shouted,
CraftyCorn turned to the purple cat and orange dog.
“...CatNap… …DogDay…” She said with tears in her eyes, “...I'm sorry… It looks like faith wasn't with me…”
A yellow blazing wind took CraftyCorn down. CatNap, was in shocked as he tried to step in to save CraftyCorn.
“CRAFTYCORN!!!” He shouted,
DogDay then stopped CatNap.
“It's too late!” He shouted, “And if you would have went in there, then you would be gone as well!”
After the blazing wind, CraftyCorn… was gone. The only things that remain were her deck and the device that the deck was in. CatNap and DogDay also had tears in their eyes. DogDay turned away in sorrow. CatNap ran over to the deck and device.
“No… NO!” He shouted, “NOOO!”
CatNap turned to the black robe individual.
“YOU MONSTER!” He shouted, “WHAT DID YOU DO TO HER?!”
The black robe individual had a purple flaming soul in his hand as he slowly disappeared without saying another word.
“HEY! GET BACK HERE!” CatNap shouted as he tried to get the black robe individual, but he disappeared, causing CatNap to only attack the grass,
DogDay looked at the card CraftyCorn dropped first before her final seconds.
“The Weather Forecast…” He said, “Her favorite card…”
DogDay had nothing else to say as he hears CatNap crying in despair after CraftyCorn's final seconds before the black robe individual took her life away…
CraftyCorn's sacrifice not only affected DogDay and CatNap, but also their relationships with their other friends… It affected their relationships and they've changed throughout the next year… They haven't been the same to one another since then… How will it affect their lives?
