Chapter 14: Hiking Day!
CatNap was in a dark hallway, alone.
“Wh-Where am I?” He wondered as he looked around,
CatNap then saw red smoke coming from behind him.
“Wh-What's this?” He wondered,
CatNap heard a loud, but low purr.
“Hello?” He hollered,
CatNap turned to see a gray monstrous cat on all fours with a huge blank smile. He screamed in fear as he tried to run, but the gray monstrous cat made him fall with a swipe to his right leg.
“GAH!” He shouted in pain, “NO!”
CatNap turned to see the gray monstrous cat as it roared at him.
“STAY AWAY FROM ME!!!” He shouted,
CatNap woke up, in his room as he shouted in fear. He looked around, sweating and breathing heavily.
“Oh my God…” He said, “Oh my God…”
CatNap looked at his alarm clock as it said, 7:30. He laid back down as he sighed in relief. His front door started to knock.
“CatNap, are you awake?” DogDay said from the other side,
“Yes…” CatNap replied as he sit back up,
DogDay entered. He saw CatNap in a stressed way.
“Woah… Are you ok?” He asked him,
“Yeah…” CatNap replied, “I had a bad dream… It's my past demons haunting me…”
“What was that demon like?”
“...I don't know… I guess I forgot upon waking up…”
“Oh… Well, it's Saturday! Come on, let's eat some breakfast and then go on a morning hike!”
“Do I have to go on a hike?”
“Yeah! Come on, we need to enjoy some morning sun!”
“...Fine…”
7:45AM.
Bobby BearHug was looking at her deck in her house. She then looked at the new cards GuardianDove gave her while chatting with him in her dream.
“Hmmm.. “ She said while constructing a new deck with the new cards she got, “Let's see if this works…”
Bobby then heard a knock at her front door.
“That must be PickyPiggy.” She said as she took a deep breath and got up and grabbed her new deck, “Alright, let's do this.”
Bobby went to the front door to open it, revealing PickyPiggy and Hoppy HopScotch.
“Hi, Picky!” Bobby said,
“Howdy, Bobby!” PickyPiggy said, “Ready?”
“I'm ready!”
Bobby looked at Hoppy with her arms crossed and eating a peppermint.
“What?” Hoppy wondered, “The hell do you want?”
“Nothing.” Bobby replied, “Anyways, lead the way, Picky.”
“I'll gladly do so!” PickyPiggy said,
On a hiking trail, CatNap was hiking with DogDay as he was struggling to catch up with DogDay. DogDay was hiking no problem. DogDay then stopped at a checkpoint of the trail to stretch his arms out in front of the sun.
“Ahhh! Nothing like a good hike on a Saturday morning!” He said as he turned to CatNap who was out of breath, “Oh, come on, CatNap! It's not that bad!”
“Well maybe I'm not used to hiking.” CatNap said as he was on one knee, “Give me five.”
“Actually, I'm giving out eight.”
“...Eight…”
“...Ok, Nine then. I guess that number is forbidden in our lives now…”
“Yeah…”
Bobby and PickyPiggy meanwhile were hiking together, but Hoppy was ahead of them.
“Hah! Hiking is so easy!” Hoppy said, “Thank God for gym classes!”
Bobby was slowly out of breath until PickyPiggy stopped to help her.
“Are you ok?” She asked her,
“Yeah… Thanks.” Bobby replied,
“No worries. Come on, let's stay close.”
Bobby blushed a bit until she shook her head.
“No, not yet.” She said to herself,
At a checkpoint, Hoppy was stretching as Bobby and PickyPiggy caught up to her.
“Do ya ever run out of adrenaline in ya?” PickyPiggy asked Hoppy,
“Ehh… Probably not.” Hoppy replied, “I'm a very active bunny, that's for sure.”
Hoppy then sat on a chair provided by the hiking trip.
“Anyways, do any of you wanna duel?” She asked, “I kinda wanna practice for the tournament.”
“Why not practice with your boyfriend?” PickyPiggy wondered,
“...He's still asleep.”
“Right…”
Hoppy then looked at Bobby.
“Bobby? Wanna be my opponent?” She asked her,
“Bobby has had enough duels from–” PickyPiggy said,
“--Don't worry, I won't lose this time.” Bobby replied,
PickyPiggy was surprised.
“Wh-What?” She said, “You're acting differently this time.”
“PickyPiggy, don't worry, it's ok.” Bobby said as she got out her deck, “I'll duel her again.”
“...Ok, suit yourself.”
PickyPiggy raised an eyebrow at Hoppy. Hoppy rolled her eyes as she got out her deck and duel disk.
“There's a duel field on the other side.” She said as she got up, “Here, hope you two are ready for more walking.”
“Whatever.” PickyPiggy said, “Just don't get in our business as usual when you're dueling us.”
“Hah! That I might not promise on!”
PickyPiggy rolled her eyes as she and Bobby followed Hoppy to a dueling field in between two hiking trails.
