Chapter 100: One Step Ahead

It was the next morning. Baba Chops was walking to a prison facility. She wore head bandages following her loss of memories moments ago. Inside, she went inside to ask a police officer behind a desk a question.

“...I wanna see someone.” She said to the police officer,

“And who exactly do you wanna see?” The police officer wondered,

Later, Baba was in a room with Bitsy BatBite. She had her hands cuffed and was wearing an orange prison uniform. A policeman was guarding them, watching to make sure Bitsy wouldn't strike.

“Wasn't expecting a former student to visit me while I serve my life sentence.” Bitsy said, “What do you want?”

“Why did ya do this?” Baba asked her, “The whole Hour Of Joy apocalypse that I had to find shelter from or fight back with my Deck, the double kidnappings, the sexual assaults, you get the idea.”

Bitsy smirked.

“Revenge is the key word.” She replied, “That's why I have done it with some allies.”

“...And where are they at?” Baba asked her,

“Be specific.”

“...Prince Prototype.”

“Currently undergoing plans for world domination, but I won't tell you where.”

“...Ok, fine…”

Baba looked at a crumpled up piece of paper of the names listed on it.

“And what about… Icky, Rabie, Maggie and Simon?” She asked her,

“Do you not know them?” Bitsy wondered, “Or have they kidnapped you after a swing so hard that you've temporarily forgotten your memories…”

“If you can call it that…”

Bitsy smiles.

“They hide in the shadows.” She whispered to Baba, “At night, if light shines, they'll go there and wreck whoever it is that has had their day shining, and make them very afraid of what's next.”

“...That's all I wanna hear.” Baba said as she was about to get up,

“Wait right there!” Bitsy said, stopping her,

Baba looked back at Bitsy.

“...There is one more thing you should also worry about.” Bitsy said to Baba, “Unlike the Prince, she is… more vicious than her.”

“...Who is it?” Baba wondered,

Later, it was the afternoon. Allister Gator was still trying to call Baba on his phone.

“Come on…” He said, still no luck, “Damn it.”

Then, Allister's phone started to ring as it was from Poe.

“Huh?” He wondered as he answered it, “Yeah, Poe?”

Allister gasped in shock.

“What?!” He said, “What happened to him?!”

Later, Poe was with Touille as they had him under their feathered arms. Touille was injured from a duel of some sort as he had a Duel Disk in one of his arms.

“Shit…” Touille said, “She really was tough… Almost killed my ass back there…”

“Touille!” Allister's voice shouted,

Allister showed up.

“What the hell happened to him?” He asked Poe,

“Me and Touille were out on an afternoon walk when all of a sudden… She ambushed us with her troops near Doey's Bakery.” Poe replied,

“I guess they already knew about one of the charms worn by CatNap's friends glowing.” Touille said,

“Was it that lunatic scientist?” Allister wondered, “What was her name again?”

“Jackie Lope Sawyer.” Poe replied,

“You should have seen her, Allister…” Touille said, “She wore a hoodie, had a robotic arm and a mini TV on one of her eyes. I guess it was replicating one of her eyes lost before, but nevermind that. She was a menace.”

“I better go and warn the others.”

Poe turned to Touille.

“You're coming with me.” They said to Touille, “I know a place where you can rest.”

“Alright…” Touille said, “I trust you, babe.”

“Wh-What about me?” Allister wondered,

Poe thinks for a moment.

“I… I can't find an answer.” They replied,

Allister sighed.

“Knew you would…” He replied,

“Wait.” Touille said, “Keep an eye on that… zen garden.”

“Zen garden?” Allister wondered,

“Oh, that zen garden in the forest next to Verygreen Park.” Poe said,

“Yeah, I heard from Jackie that… She would soon try to destroy it since Poe was in an alliance with some chick named CraftyCorn or something.”

“Oh, I think I know where this is going.” Allister said as he turned back, “Consider it done. Take care.”

“You too.” Poe said, “And be careful. Who knows what's gonna happen next. I'll meet you there once I find an opening.”

“Alright.”

The critters parted ways for what's to come next.

Later, Bobby and Robert were at home. Their parents are away, again.

“I'm bored, Bobby.” Robert said,

“Well, what do you want to do?” Bobby wondered,

Then, they heard a knock at their front door.

“I got it.” Bobby said as she got up and answered the door, revealing Poe and Touille, “Huh? Poe?”

“It's an emergency.” Poe replied, “Where are you friends at?”

“B-Busy? What's going on? Is Touille ok?”

“Jackie Lope Sawyer.”

“What?! She's already attacking?! But it's not even night!”

“It seems that she and the others are one step ahead of us…”

“...Come in. I'll go tell the others.”
