Chapter 96: KickinChicken Vs Bubba Bubbaphant: Fixing Themselves, Part 3

It was later into the afternoon. KickinChicken was in Bubba's apartment as he lay down on his sofa. Bubba was sitting on a chair and was sorta acting like a therapist to KickinChicken.

“So… Is there something you want to talk about?” Bubba wondered,

“Yeah…” KickinChicken replied,

“Alright, let it out.”

KickinChicken sighed as he looked up at the ceiling fan above.

“...Do you ever feel like… you can never get rid of your past?” He wondered, “Even if you try to change and be a better person… There's always that one piece of memory that's luring you in a bad way…”

“...Uhhh…” Bubba wondered,

“Like… I've hurt you guys, really bad…”

“That's true, but…”

“I'm not done yet.”

“Oh, sorry, continue.”

KickinChicken took a deep breath, almost shaking.

“Anyways… I've hurt you guys, really bad… And… Even if I promise you all that I would change and be a better person, or go back and be the person I originally was for you… I just can't.” He said as she slowly started to cry, “There's always these bad memories that I just can't avoid. These bad dreams I've been having on those memories… I can't just have a poker face on and be a better person in a snap of a finger… I can't even keep up because of so much shit back at home… Moving out after your parents disowned you or kicking you out for almost killing someone out of pure jealousy… Almost losing a relationship with someone that I've known since I was a kid… Losing an eye… And now… Trying your hardest to… forget all the negativity, but it always comes back. I’m sorry, but I don't think I'll ever change…”

Bubba took off his glasses to clear them after hearing a lot from KickinChicken. He puts them back on and sighed very heavy.

“I understand the frustration you're in…” He said, “It wasn't easy living with one parent after the other left for cheating…”

“It was your mother, right?” KickinChicken asked him, still emotional, “She left because she cheated on your dad?”

“Actually… My dad was accused of cheating.”

“Wh-What? He was accused?”

“I was only 12 when it happened… When I saw them arguing about wanting to get a divorce after my dad was accused of cheating. He was only friendly with women yet he wasn't getting on their good side. Then I found out that… My father wasn't the best husband. He didn't really try to get on my mom's good side.”

“Was it an arranged marriage?”

“Sort of. I mean, they've known each other for years and they told their parents that this is who they wanna marry after meeting and getting friendly with them.”

“So it was, but it was the bride and groom that decides who they want to marry…”

“Yes, it has a lot of extra steps, which is surprising… Now it's just me and my Dad… He was a good father, but… again, he wasn't the best husband. And… When I heard everything at the age of 12… Now I know what life was truly all about…”

“I'm so sorry to hear, dude…”

“It's fine… …Anyways, I think you've already changed.”
