Chapter 103: The Next Decision To Decide

Later, Bubba, CraftyCorn, KickinChicken and Poe left the area, regaining their breaths.

“Ok… We're pretty much on death watch.” Bubba said as he sighed heavily, “I can't believe Simon was always a step ahead of us…”

“He was…” CraftyCorn said, “No matter how many cards we have that could be useful for a comeback, Simon always has something up his sleeve…”

“By the way…” Poe said, “Where's Allister?”

Bubba sighed sadly as he got out Allister's charm resembling two bones making an X and gave it to Poe.

“Simon took him down.” He said,

Poe was surprised as they looked at the charm and closed their eyes.

“...We must avenge Allister, if he doesn't come back.” They said, “But for now, I'm sure he's still out there.”

“He should be.” Bubba said,

KickinChicken looked at Verygreen Park.

“...Simon…” He said, “He wanted a piece of me, didn't he?”

“Looks like you're next for him to beat to a pulp…” Poe said,

“I'm not gonna let that happen. I will do my best and beat his ass first.”

KickinChicken turned back to his friends.

“I've hurt people in the past.” He said, “And it's over a sacrifice that affected not just me… over my pure emotions and over my ego getting the best of me… I'm gonna truly pay it all back. If what Simon did to Allister was true… Then I'll gladly be next in line.”

Everyone else was surprised.

“Y-You're not gonna sacrifice yourself next, are you?” CraftyCorn said, worried,

“Might as well…” KickinChicken replied, “If I'm gonna find a way to truly make it up in order to escape my past, then this will be enough.”

“Why are you talking like that all of a sudden?” Poe wondered,

“Yes, why?” Bubba wondered, almost concerned, “Remember the duel we had not too long ago–”

“--I do.” KickinChicken replied, “But I'm still standing by my word.”

KickinChicken walked away. Bubba then face palmed in sorrow.

“Kickin…” He said, “What are you doing?”

“Should we tell the others?” Poe wondered,

“I… I really don't know what to do.” CraftyCorn replied, “There has to be another decision to decide on… We can't go back to losing one of our friends again and start drama… We just can't…”

CraftyCorn slowly started to cry as Bubba then comforted her.

“It's ok…” Bubba said,

Poe looked at the sky above. It was still the afternoon. They looked back at Bubba comforting a lost, gently weeping CraftyCorn and clench their fists.

“I'm sorry, but I think we need more time.” Poe replied, “We need to know if what Kickin means is true… And I think we'll prove it if he goes face-to-face with Simon again…”

Later, CatNap was walking home from Bobby's home with DogDay.

“Wonder what's going on with Kickin…” DogDay wondered, “Poe told us about him taking on Simon again, and that's pretty much it.”

“Whatever happens, then I'm gonna step up and prevent anything happening.” CatNap said, “Allister is currently gone because of Simon, so if Simon dares to get rid of Kickin, then I won't let it happen. Kickin may have done some shitty things in the past, but you, me and everyone else knows that he's changed and is trying to be a better person.”

“True.”

“Anyways, what are you doing in the meantime?”

DogDay sighed.

“I'm still trying to get a hold of Poppy…” He replied, “But she still hasn't responded to me yet… Even if I gave her a lot of time away from me…”

“Maybe she's still not ready yet.” CatNap said,

“Pretty much… Guess we'll have to wait until tomorrow…”

When they passed by a TV shop, the TVs on display started to become static, but without their notice. The TVs all display a white eye behind a blank blue background, watching and hearing what was going on.

“Hmmm…” A voice full of static wondered, “Poppy… As in Poppy Popgoes? Perhaps I'll lure one of them into my web while I lay out the plan to kidnap her…”
