Chapter 55: Coming Senses

Everything then went white as GuardianDove was in his blank void. He looked at Howard, BuffBuffalo and Winnie as they were unconscious, or at the least, sleeping now.

“It looks like these three have come to their senses.” He said, “But the damage has been done. There's no way these 3 are able to get back for what they took from them, considering that they wanted to be part of the team when they are lost in their memories. However…”

GuardianDove then turned to CatNap and DogDay, who are also sleeping.

“These two were forced to join.” He said, “Forced to live in the shadows. I don't blame them, as I was also forced to live in them myself, when he tried to oppose our act together…”

GuardianDove straightened his glasses.

“These two will come to their senses.” He said, “To one another, to themselves, and to save this world. They're gonna need some help, and I know the perfect candidate for the assistance.”

GuardianDove then used his powers to send CatNap and DogDay to the blue light above signaling that they'll be waking up soon.

“Good luck, CatNap and DogDay.” He said,

Everything went white until the whole thing went back as the eyes of someone slowly started to open from another slumber.

“Uhhhhhh…” He groaned in pain, “What the hell just happened?”

He looked at what seemed to be his purple hands with long gray nails. This was CatNap's point of view.

“Where the hell am I?” He wondered as he tried to flow his hair, but the hair covering one of his eyes wasn't there, “Huh?” D-Did I just get a haircut?”

CatNap then noticed something was off. He went to a pond near him and looked at his reflection and gasped.

“What the?!” He shouted as he got up and looked at the face-paint around his eyes and the outfit he was wearing, “Wh-What am I wearing?!”

“CatNap?” A familiar voice said, softly,

CatNap turned to see his close friend, DogDay, slowly getting up.

“D-DogDay!” He said to him, “You said my name, right?”

“Yeah?” DogDay wondered, “What's going on? Did we wake up in the middle of the forest?”

As DogDay looked up at him, he yelped in fright as he saw CatNap's outfit and face paint on him. CatNap gasped as he saw the same thing on DogDay.

“What the hell just happened to us?!” They both shouted in fear and confusion at the top of their lungs,

Later, they were walking to the path that was still leading. They were both silent at each other as DogDay then looked at CatNap and sighed.

“You know, a part of me is still mad at you.” He said to CatNap,

“Why?” CatNap wondered,

“Well it's because of your anger. When you dueled to try and free me from that mad scientist… Your rage made you snap and you yelled at me…”

“I… I couldn't control myself, DogDay. What did you want me to do? See a therapist mid-duel?”

“I know you can control yourself…”

“I can't! I'm a fucking angsty emo head that's also a shitty fucking friend! I've been having nightmares that made me this way! Not even your rise and shine attitude is gonna save me!”

DogDay was surprised with what CatNap had said. CatNap then sighed in sorrow.

“I'm sorry…” He said as he looked away, “I… I'm never gonna go back to my original personality from one year ago…”

DogDay then sighed as he then heard CatNap slowly starting to cry.

“CatNap…” He said as he hugged him, “Look, I wasn't finished yet.”

CatNap sniffed.

“Finished with what?” He asked him,

“The other part of me… feels bad for you.” DogDay said, “I understand that situation I'm in. Lost in thoughts, all alone, not even my own mother can help me ever since she changed when Dad passed…”

“But you had a better way to come around! Look at me when I was a Dark Critter, I destroyed the interiors of my orphanage! My old home!”

“They tried to help you, buddy…”

“They didn't. I'm sorry, just… Leave me alone.”

DogDay then lets CatNap go as CatNap walks away down the path they were both still on.

“CatNap…” DogDay said, sadly, “There's gotta be a way for you to change… Your behavior, your act, your senses…”
