The camera pans close to a bed with its blue curtains closed. The scratching of color pencils can be heard from the inside. We now see Laney, who is focused up on her drawing on a mooncalf. She’s adding the final touches to it.
At last, she is satisfied with how it looks. She folds the drawing up, gathers up her pencils and parchment, and tears back her curtains. She then puts her stationary away and puts the drawing in one of the drawers of her desk. This drawer is full of many other pieces of parchment, all with different drawings of different magical creatures.
She closed the drawer and headed over to the window, where she looked out at the stars and thought.
