the dojo is very overstimulating today, not to mention all of the chores that johnny made me and miguel accomplish. i'm hot, i'm sweaty, it's too bright. all i wanna do is go home.

i drink from my water and look around the room. miguel is having a conversation with johnny.

"QUIET!"

i cover my ears. i hate when people yell, especially since it's one of my triggers.

miquel has been there for me since day one. he tried defending me from kyler and his chronies, which i greatly appreciate.

he comes over to me. usually, i love to talk to him. but right now, all i want is space.

"go away!" i yell, squatting on the floor, crying. My hands still cover my ears as he approaches me. "leave me alone!"

he takes my hands away from my ears. "hey, (y/n) you're okay." he says softly. i don't look at him.

"calm down, (y/n/n), it's gonna be okay." johnny crouches down and grabs my water bottle and leaves the room.

"look, little love." miguel shows me the time on his phone. "practice ends in three minutes."

his voice is oddly soothing. i've been doing relatively well with my outbursts. i cannot control them sometimes, but i've learned strategies that help me... today just wasn't the day.

i slow down on crying and he tries to wipe my face. i dodge it, and he laughs slightly. "okay, baby steps."

"'m sorry, miguel. i'm just really overstimulated; this is such a sensory overload."

"hey, don't be sorry."

johnny comes back with a full water bottle and (your favorite candy) .

he squats down with a groan. "ah, my knees." he holds out his hands and i reach for the candy. "here you go, kiddo."

"thank you, sensei."
