Kevin came to slowly, like coming out of a dream but not knowing if you were still dreaming. After some time, Kevin didn't know how much, he could feel that he was laying down in bed. He could feel his toes, his legs, his hips, his chest. He could feel his arms. He could feel his hand.
In one hand, a small soft hand held his. He squeezed it gently.
"Kevin?" soft, hesitant voice said.
Kevin slowly opened his eyes. He turned his head and met the eyes of his young sister. Tears were spilling down her face, and a sob escaped her mouth as Kevin replied. "Hi Katie, I'm sorry it took me so long."
