Prepared for something that I don't know

When dating you I was always thinking
Ahead. Who would break
Who's heart? Who is ending
Up with who
Next? That guy is really hot
The girl makes me quite flustered

I had a boyfriend but he's
Just temporary
Temporary

Everything is temporary

Three more years of college
Then graduate school
Then internships
Then my career
Then marriage
Then a family
Then death

Too far ahead to look behind
If I'm far ahead then my past
Cant haunt me when
I'm awake at night

To drag me down into the depths
Of their despair
That I refuse to go to
