The rest of their drive went smoothly, and John found himself in a whole new country, in a whole new house, with three men he'd only known for a while.

Smit didn't at all seem bothered by Johns obvious discomfort, he was actually quite alright, even though Smit seemed to react with others emotions quite fluently.

John felt like he wasn't quite welcome, even though Smit treated him like he did everyone else, maybe better than he did everyone else, but he still felt that way, whether its the new environment, or else what, he felt it.

Puffer and Grizzy felt more at home than both Smit and John combined. The two had grown inseparable over their small journey, and they weren't planning on new environments to slow their trolling antics down.

Something was off about the two though, Grizzy was a lot calmer, and Puffer was a lot happier, which was unusual for the two. They also seemed to be so inseparable that it started to concern John a bit, they had managed to form such a strong bond over such a short period of time, it didn't seem healthy.

Both of them had went to sleep though, leaving John and Smit alone watching TV.

Smit definitely had something on his mind, he wasn't even paying attention to the show, and was zoned out completely. John noticed the turmoil in his eyes, the way he seemed less focused on everything besides John.

He was staring at John.

Somehow, John didn't have the heart to snap Smit back to reality, instead he got just as lost in Smit's eyes, as Smit did his own.

Smit seemed to be in such a fit in his own mind, that if John startled him out of his thoughts, it would only make things worse anyway. In fact, Smit was so invested in his thoughts he hadn't noticed anything, not John eventually getting up to get water, or to do other things, not Puffer walking down the stairs at some point, not Grizzy trying to act sneaky about, but failing miserably, nothing.

His pretty face was coated with emotionlessness, and John hated the look.

"Smit?" John asked quietly. Even though bringing him out of it might not help, he had to do something.

"Mm?" It could've helped if he'd blinked, or his pitched changed even a decibel, but it didn't. His voice, and tone, everything about him stayed as emotionless as before.

"Smii7y?" John asked again. This time Smit's eyes darted towards him, and froze, starting at him again. "You alright?" John made sure to speak softly, he didn't want Smit to panic.

Smit finally smiled, but didn't break his staring contest with John.

"Hi John!"

"What's going on Smit? I've never seen you like that before." John tried to sound more friendly than concerned.

"Just thinking." Smit shook his head lightly, getting up from his spot.

"About what?"

Smit seemed hesitant for a second, before answering

"You."

Oh... oh.

"Flirting with me now?" John chuckled.

"Only if you want me too." Smit answered flirtatiously, but also with such honesty John didn't think he heard him right.

John was speechless, how could such little words leave him so surprised? Was it the honesty behind them, or who said them making him feel this way?

Both, Its both.

"Don't stay up too late through the night thinking about me, John, I want to be beside you when you do that." Smit said with a wink as he trailed up the stairs to his own room.
