16: Rejected?! Who?

"A clear rejection is always better than a fake promise."

Ofcourse he's not in his right mind. He's drunk. Valerita thought.

She was glad and confident with what she told Michael. Afterall, it is the truth.

"I should leave." Valerita mumbled and snatched back her wrist from Michael's faltered grasp.

Michael was high on jealousy and couldn't simply just tell her the truth. Atleast not now that she was taken.

Oh how boiled he was. How could his bestfriend do that to him?

"Likely...." He slurred.

"Huh?" Valerita managed to let out before Michael tugged hard on her wrist pulled her towards him.

She fell over him in a muffled thud, only inches apart.

Silent moments trickled by until Michael finally spoke. "According to your contract, you do as I say. And I forbid you to go out with Jordan."

"You can't-" Valerita stuttered before he interrupted her.

"I don't want to hear it. Let me get this straight Ms. Valerita Monroy, you are mine. Only mine. I don't care what you think anymore. I'm not letting go of you. Not now. Not ever."

Saying that, his hand slithered around her sweet little neck. And before she could calculate what was happening, his lips fell softly on hers.

He expertly explored her full lips, before moving around her ears and neck, nibbling and licking here and there. In the meantime, Valerita couldn't help but moan at his every titillating touch. Soon he returned to her lips, after flipping her underneath him. He caressed her arms and kneaded her breasts.

It was about time she realised what was going on and she pushed him away.

"No!" She stated, pulling herself up. And she walked away leaving Michael completely stunned and confused.

"I honestly don't see what the problem is, Rita." Jordan's desperate voice sounded through Valerita's phone.

Valerita hated herself for not knowing Jordan was the despo type. She hated those kinds of clingy men.

"It's complicated, okay. But I can't go out with you tonight. Not ever for that matter. And I'm really sorry. I honestly do think you're a nice guy, but I think us is going to work." She tried to give it to him straight but soft. Afterall, this was the first guy she agreed to go out with after the incident with Mike. Except for how he might not be right.

"Please. Give me one chance." His voice almost sounded pleading.

You see. Clingy!

Valerita sighed. She never encountered a time when she would need to let down a guy after she had given him a go. Plus, she'd not given a guy the go in a long time. She groaned. This was not as easy as she thought.

"Look, Dan. I like being just friends with you. I don't want to spoil that. And I have work to do now, so I'll call you later."

Without even a reply from him, she hung up. She never thought he'd be so frustrating. Why couldn't he just understand and let go?

"Wow! You look exhausted. Do you really want to go to work, Rita?" Pamela asked almost immediately after she'd hung up.

"It's not funny." Valerita scolded lightly. "I couldn't seem to get him off my back. I've read about such clingy guys. I do not want to get tangled in that."
