He didn't come to bed that night, he didn't even speak another word to me.

I knew he was still in the house, for we couldn't be seen apart, because we were still pretending
to be married.

I know I shouldn't be hurt, this was an
agreement, he's not actually married to me.

It wasn't any different from when I slept with
Kai, but I thought Stefan and I had something more?

It doesn't matter anymore, I'm over it. And if he wants to be a dick, then so be it.

So that's why I got dressed, opening the doors to walk into the living room.

He sat there, a blanket over his body and a
pillow at his side.

I walked past him, not even glancing at him
as I reached the door.

"Where do you think you're going?" He asked.

"None of your fucking business," I snapped,
opening the door.

"Elena don't you dar-"

He didn't finish when I slammed the door, the warm air slapping me in the face as I walked
down the sidewalk.

I took a deep breath as I continued to walk to
the beach, the newly risen sun blazing down
on my skin.

I took off my shoes when I reached the sand, the familiar soft feeling making my body calm
down.

I walked for a bit, trying to take my mind off of what Stefan did, and how I feel.

I didn't stop until I saw a group of guys playing a game of volleyball, their ball rolling towards me on the sand.

I picked it up, wiping the wet sand off of it.

"Sorry about that," one of them said while running towards me.

"It's all good," I replied, handing him the ball.

He smiled down at me, spinning the ball in his hands.

"Wanna play?" He asked.

"I'm not sure how," I said honestly, and he just shrugged.

The rest of his group called out to him, and he replied back, throwing the ball back to them.

"What's your name?" He asked.

"Elena," I said smiling, and he smiled when he put his hand out, and I shook it.

"I'm Aaron," he said, putting his hand down.

We both started to walk, and I couldn't help but notice his bare chest, and how his arms flexed
as we walked.

"Why are you all alone?" He asked.

I shrugged, "I just wanted to go on a walk by
myself."

"Oh- I should go then."

He stopped walking and I stopped him from
moving.

"No, you're all good, I like the company."

He just smiled and continued to walk, the water coming up from the shore and gliding underneath our feet.

"Don't you want to go play your game?" I asked him after a moment.

"Nah, I've been playing for some time now, I should take a break."

I nodded, turning my attention to the water.

"What's wrong?" He asked me, and I stopped walking.

I fully turned my body to the ocean, taking a
deep breath as I walked into the water.

I didn't go far, the water reached my ankles.

"It's just some guy," I replied.

"Oh," he started, "why's that?"
