You has been feeling sick for some time— a terrible fever.

A migraine that doesn't seem to go away, and a bad stomachache. To top it off, on your period.

To make all this worse, your parents are out of town, so i'm all by myself. I've beeb feeling under the weather nonstop and I just want to lay down and rest, but I can't even do that because I feel too restless.

I was in the kitchen trying to make some warm tea when the doorbell rings.

I open the door and see Walker, my neighbor friend.

"Hey, can I come in," he asks softly.

I nods and that was the que for him to step through the entrance. He closes the door behind him.

"I noticed you haven't been coming by lately and I was worried, so at school I was talking to our friend and they told me you were feeling sick. How long have you been sick," he says.

I shrug, "not that long, i guess."

"Here. I got you some medicine and some things you like from the store," he holds up a plastic bag.

"You really didn't have to, walker," I whispers.

"Well, take it. There's some sweets and things to keep you entertained while you're cooped up in here," he says.

"thanks, you're the best," candace smiles.

As I walk towards my kitchen, walker was following me, I peer in the bag to see what was in there.

Some tea packets, tiny pills, marshmallows, chocolates, gummies, small candle, and variety of chips.

I don't say anything, I was in shock.

Why did he do all this for you. I mean.. you're just some neighbor.

"Candace, go lay down, you don't look too well," he says as he places the bag down and leads me to my couch.

I lay down with my eyes close and all of a sudden i feel a wet cloth being placed on my forehead.

I open my eyes from it and met Walker's eyes— he's smiling at you. That smile makes your heart flutter. Super fast.

"Why are you doing all this," i ask him.

"because I care about you," he says, "I always have. You're not just a friend to me."

He pulls out a bowl of soup, made by his mom and placed it on the table beside you.

i didn't say anything.. I was speechless.

"Sorry, that came out of nowhere," he whispers quickly, laughing.

"no, no. It was reassuring," I smile.

"reassuring?"

"yeah, i don't think of you as a friend. It's way more than that," you mutter.
