Mei Lin could not understand the meaning of these words, but she could feel the resentment they conveyed. She straightened up and turned to look at the man who had been staring at the ground. Not far away, he could naturally see these words.

Murong Jinghe fell silent. After a long while, he said to her: "Kowtow to him a few times."

Mei Lin was dumbfounded, "Why?"

Murong Jinghe smiled, but soon returned to indifference: "He is the God of War. If you kowtow to him, maybe he will help us get out alive."

What he said made Mei Lin angry and funny, especially when he said it in such a serious tone. She couldn't help but sarcastically said: "You have a distinguished status, and kowtowing will definitely be more effective than me..." Before she finished speaking, immediately saw him looking at her like an idiot, and couldn't help but pause.

"Do you think I can...ahem..." He obviously looked sickly, but his demeanour was enough to make people angry.

Mei Lin glared back at him, stood up, and patted the dust on her body while saying: "If he can help us get out, why are they trapped here?" After that, she went to continue to look for a way to climb out. Get out of the pit.

"Then you kowtow to him on my behalf. I owe you a favour." Murong Jinghe suddenly compromised.

This was the first time he had compromised since they met, and Mei Lin was quite frightened. She almost touched his head to see if his brain had been damaged by the impact.

"Are you serious?" She resisted the urge and asked doubtfully.

"Nonsense!" Murong Jinghe frowned, looking a little impatient.

Mei Lin thought about it and felt that this was a good exchange of terms. Although it seemed that he would not cause any harm at the moment, who could have predicted what would happen in the future. She did not seek fame or fortune, she only wanted to be safe and sound.

Thinking of this, she was brave enough to greet, and then she really knelt down in front of the corpse and kowtowed three times. She was not given any guarantee, nor was she given any written word, because if he wanted to regret it, those things in her hand would be nothing more than a reminder. She was betting on luck.

When she got up, she glanced at the man lying on her side, and saw that the look in his eyes was extremely complicated, and she didn't know where his mind was wandering again.

"One day you won't regret kowtow." Feeling her gaze, he came back to his senses and said calmly.

"That's the best." Mei Lin muttered, and was about to find a way out, but suddenly remembered something, so she paused: "Would you like me to help you bury him?" She determined that the man had a deep relationship with him, otherwise, with his status and arrogance, how could he ask someone to kowtow on his behalf? It's better to do good deeds to the end and let him remember that feeling more deeply.

Unexpectedly, Murong Jinghe said coldly: "No need to worry about it."

Mei Lin felt bored, picked up the torch, and silently found her way.

"The colour of the corner opposite is a little lighter." She stopped talking, and Murong Jinghe took the initiative to speak.

Mei Lin hadn't gone far yet when she heard this, she turned around and followed his gaze. In the dim shadow of the torch, she saw that there was something different from the surrounding walls. Because of its relatively low position, she didn't even notice it before.

Her heartbeat quickened slightly, and she couldn't help but take a deep breath before walking quickly there.

It was a stone, half a man tall, surrounded by soil. No wonder the colours were different. After getting closer, Mei Lin touched it with her hand and couldn't help but feel a little disappointed, but she still reluctantly knocked it with the dagger handle. Unexpectedly, there was an empty echo, indicating that the side was empty. The disappointment that had just surfaced immediately disappeared, and she began to try to push with her hands. However, despite all her strength, the stone wall remained motionless.

Mei Lin couldn't help but punched the stone wall angrily, but the pain was still her own. Just when she was holding her hands and feeling discouraged, Murong Jinghe spoke again.

"You're so stupid that you don't know how to use a dagger?" Her dagger was as sharp as clay, and he didn't believe she didn't know. Otherwise, when fighting a ghoul, the wrist-cutting action will not be changed to an elbow strike. She must have known that if the dagger was sliced off, the ghoul would have its entire wrist broken off. Being soft-hearted is this woman's weakness.

It’s not that she’s afraid of wearing out her dagger. Mei Lin murmured in her heart, but because she was eager to find out what was behind the stone wall, she had no intention of arguing with him. She just pulled out the dagger and tentatively penetrated it from the boundary between the stone wall and the soil.

The dagger's blade was about a foot long, and she felt frustrated before she could even finish it. She felt refreshed again.

Slowly cutting along the edge of the stone wall, some stone powder fell, but the dagger blade was not stopped at all. It quickly cut in a circle, and when she pushed the stone with her hand, she heard a ‘bang’, and dust flew everywhere. Covered her head and face.

She didn't care to avoid it, and while waving her sleeves to drive away the dust, she coughed and looked inside.

A dark passage appeared in front of her. Because the light was difficult to reach, it was impossible to see how deep it was. She turned sideways and took the torch that was lying next to her and shone it inside. The light only illuminated about a few feet in front of her eyes, but it was enough to see that there were neatly laid green bricks under the fallen stone slabs, and some of them were broken out by the stone slabs.

Mei Lin was stunned for a long time in front of this completely artificial construction. She didn't come back to her senses until Murong Jinghe behind her couldn't help but ask. Looking back at him with strange eyes, she said: "You said that this stone formation is naturally formed, so why is there such a passage below?"

Murong Jinghe naturally couldn't see it, but he also heard something strange in her words. After thinking about it, he said, "You can light another torch and throw it in."

Mei Lin reacted and did as she was told. The torch thrown into the depths only dimmed for a moment when it hit the ground, and then returned to normal, with no tendency to extinguish in a short period of time. It is obvious that the air in the channel is circulating.

No one knew how deep it was, so Mei Lin didn't want to waste any time, so she climbed in, took out the torch and put it out, burning a few tangled spider webs, leaving only one burning, and then returned to Murong Jinghe. She sat down next to him and briefly explained the situation inside.

Murong Jinghe couldn't help laughing when he saw her disgraced look. When she looked over in confusion, he hurriedly said: "It was probably built by later generations, maybe it has nothing to do with the huge rocks above." Even so, this time he was no longer so sure.

The stone forest is man-made. This thought came to both of their minds at the same time, but was immediately thrown away. Murong Jinghe did not remember such a huge project recorded in the history books, while Mei Lin was worried about the passage that could only accommodate one person crawling through. She couldn't understand how anyone could build such a neat passage but not allow people to walk along it standing. What made her even more depressed was that the passage was so narrow that a bamboo cart could not pass through it. In other words, for the rest of the journey, she not only had to drag Murong Jinghe with her, but also had to bring food and water, as well as torches.

Obviously, this is an extremely difficult task for anyone.
