With the Liberation more and more imminent, we can no longer put off the question of the conscription of colonial natives. The topic has long been deeply contentious, and a final decision on the matter has been avoided for years, in order to avoid criticism from colonialist hardliners and anger from the natives.
Now, however, it is not long at all until we will dearly need manpower from the exile, and we must confront the question of how tight our conscription requirements will be.
"We don't need to be too harsh. Let us work together on a fair and square deal."
