Y/n POV:
After our failed attempt at finding the ability user responsible for the virus that was affecting the president and the Port Mafia boss, Ranpo implemented his backup plan, which was to have Tanizaki try to assassinate the Port Mafia boss from within the Port Mafia headquarters.
~slight timeskip~
Although Tanizaki was unsuccessful, Ranpo planned for that and had sent Kyouka to rescue him ahead of time in case things went south.
"Just as planned. Kyouka-chan has extracted Tanizaki-san," Atsushi informs us.
"Good. Take the truck there," Ranpo says from beside me, sitting on the floor of the truck.
Later, the truck arrived to pick up Tanizaki and Kyouka after they had successfully escaped from the Port Mafia headquarters.
"Get in!" Atsushi shouts, opening the door for Tanizaki and Kyouka to get in.

"I'm sorry, Ranpo-san. I messed up," Tanizaki says as he lies on the floor of the container of the truck, preparing for treatment from Yosano.
"It's all right," Ranpo says, standing up. "How does the Port Mafia look?" He asks Kenji.
"It looks like they've transported the boss to an underground shelter," Kenji answers, his eyes glued to his laptop placed upon his lap.
"We won't be able to sneak in there," Kyouka says.
"We'll have to fight our way through, head-on," Ranpo says.
"But, Ranpo-san, according to the message I received, the boss said not to fight the Port Mafia. Those are the orders from our dying president. Maybe we should look for a way to capture the Gifted who controls the virus," Atsushi says.
"We've already tried that. The enemy is as crafty as can be. It'll be impossible to uproot all of his meticulously prepared traps in time," Ranpo says.
"Even for you?" Atsushi asks.
"I say this because I would know. And so would she," Ranpo says, looking down at me before turning his gaze back to everyone else. "That said, this is a flagrant violation of orders."
"'This'?" Kunikida questions.
"So, decide for yourselves whether you're participating or not," Ranpo says.
I lifted up my head to look up at him from my spot on the floor, not having expected him to suggest that we choose between the two options he's giving us.
"Are you telling us to choose between fighting the Port Mafia or not?" Kunikida asks.
"That's right. We don't have time to think about it, though. If the Port Mafia finds out that our president is in a safe ability space, they'll move to making threats. The employees' family members, friends, loved ones will be taken hostage. If we don't hand over the president, they'll threaten to kill them one by one. If that happens, even the Detective Agency will have no choice but to buckle," Ranpo explains.
Tanizaki and I became anxious after hearing Ranpo's words, both of us fearing the thought of anything bad happening to our siblings.
"I'll do it. At the end of the day, we only know how to protect people by hurting people," Tanizaki says, standing up from his previous lying position.
