I pulled up to Ryan's house, got out, and saw a pink motorcycle with a pink helmet attached parked out front. I had never seen it before, but I figured it belonged to one of her girlfriends. I approached the door, and it was already unlocked, so I let myself in and immediately heard her screaming.
I ran up the stairs, busted into her bedroom, and this nigga Keith had her pinned to the bed, with his hand around her throat, saying, "If I can't have you, nobody can."
Her eyes were wide in pure terror. "Get your fucking hands off her!" I roared, charging at Keith.
Keith barely turned before my fist smashed into his jaw, sending him flying off the bed. Ryan collapsed, gasping for air. I stood between her and Keith, enraged.
"You've got a death wish," Keith spat, wiping blood from his mouth as he stumbled to his feet.
I had nothing to say. He lunged at me, swinging wildly. I ducked under his punch and drove my fist into his gut, knocking the wind out of him. Keith staggered back, clutching his stomach, but I didn't let up.
My right fist connected with his cheekbone, snapping his head to the side. I followed with a knee to his ribs, feeling something crack. He yelled in pain, throwing a punch that hit my temple, but it ain't phase me.
I grabbed Keith by the collar and slammed him against the wall, my forearm pressing into his throat. He struggled, clawing at my arm, but I held firm, voice low and deadly.
"If I ever see you near her or attempt to touch her again, you're dead motherfucker. I put that on my unborn child."
His eyes shifted to Ryan "Don't even fuckin' look at her."
Keith gasped for breath, his face turning red. I let him collapse to the floor, coughing and wheezing. Stepping back, my chest heaved, eyes locked on him.
I turned to Ryan, leaning against the wall, tears streaming down her face. I rushed to her, gently cradling her face. "You okay, baby?"
She nodded weakly, voice barely a whisper. "Thank you, Quincy. I didn't know what to do."
I kissed her lips, then pulled out my phone, adrenaline still high as I dialed 911. My eyes stayed on Keith, still crumpled on the floor, groaning.
"911, what's your emergency?" the dispatcher asked.
"Yeah. I need the police at 1124 Westbrook Avenue, Unit 4. There's been an assault. The assailant is still here."
The dispatcher assured me help was on the way. I hung up, keeping an eye on Keith as I comforted Ryan. Minutes later, sirens blared, and relief washed over us.
The cops arrived fast, taking in the scene with practiced efficiency. They cuffed Keith, who didn't put up much of a fight, and led him out. One officer stayed behind to take our statements, their presence reassuring in the aftermath of the chaos.
As the police left, I held Ryan close. "You're safe now," I whispered, kissing her hair. "Baby, I won't let this happen again. I promise."
She hugged me even tighter, "Quincy, I love you so much."
"I love you too." We laid in the bed together and crashed.
