they won, they really won. The team is celebrating down on the field while Thea and I follow Donna down to join them. Thea is bouncing with energy after watching the game like a hawk. she has learned plenty about football after travis came into the picture and explained things to me as we went along, even things I knew but pretended I didn't.

"Mommy I get to hug him first right?" thea asks as she skips beside me, holding my hand.

"you can, he is probably really excited to see you," Donna says as she walks ahead of us. She has embraced thea like she is family, and that means the world to me. his whole family has embraced both of us actually. it's more than I could ever wish for, it gives us a sense of belonging. it hasn't even been a year of being together, but at the same time, it feels like forever.

we reach the edge of the field and get escorted by security through the masses of people. the family members of the players all showed up for the game, and are looking for their players as well. It's chaos, but somehow travis stands out in any crowd. I can see him ahead of us, and walk fast in his direction. seeing him in person makes it easier to breathe again, it's like coming home no matter where we are in the world physically. he is home to me.

"There he is!" Thea points out after I've already spotted him. "travis, I'm here!" she yells and he actually hears her as we get closer and excuses himself from his teammate.

he has a big smile on his face as he comes towards us, and thea lets go of my hand so she can run into his arms. there are plenty of cameras all around us, pointed in our direction. this will be national news, I know that, but at some point, I need to stop caring about that. at some point, I need to put my own happiness and life before the fear that something will sell magazines. it will become a very sad life if I keep letting that get in the way of doing what I want to do. hell, my boyfriend just won the damn Superbowl, of course, I should be down here to congratulate him.

"Princess, hi! you look so pretty. wow, are you wearing my jersey? you wear it better than me" he gushes over Thea and kisses the top of her head several times. my little girl attaches herself to him like a koala as he picks her up and spins her around. She doesn't seem to mind the cameras pointed at her, she is completely just living in the moment. I need to take a page out of her book more often.

"I am! Mommy got it for me. I love it" Thea giggles as he puts her back down, and our eyes meet over her head. but I do give him a moment to hug his mom, who congratulates him while Thea is still glued to his side. after what feels like forever it's my turn to wrap my arms around him, and I walk straight into his warm embrace.

"Baby, you made it. thank you for making it halfway across the world for me" he says and pulls away enough so he can kiss me. it's an electric kiss in the middle of a crowd where everyone seems to fade into the background leaving us alone in it all. I know there are cameras capturing everything, but I don't find it in me to care when I'm in his arms.

"of course I did. I'll always be there whenever I can" I say and peck his lips again. I can't get enough of this man, he lights up my whole world without even trying. how can someone be such a perfect fit for me? how can someone be so perfectly slotted into my life like everything I could ever want and need? it shouldn't be possible.

"love, you, love you both so much," he says as he pulls me in closer, but lets go of one hand so he can pull thea close again too. the three of us stand in a tight embrace in the middle of the crowd celebrating around us. everyone is greeting their family members, celebrating the win they have worked so hard for. I can't see any of the opponent players down here, they have probably headed into the locker room by now to lick their wounds. it must suck to make it this far and have it slip through your fingers, but it is the way it is.
