Kai and Katarina were using their fire to look around the subway car. All the windows were boarded up with planks of rotting wood and what was in place of the door to lead into the next car was blocked off by the rubble from the explosion. Through the gaps of the wooden planks, they would see that the rubble from the explosion was burying the car underneath all of it.
Kai huffs.
"What happened?" Jay wonders aloud.
"I think we're in trouble." The Fire Ninja answers.
Zane uses his scanners to help him scan the outside from inside the subway car. "It appears the explosion collapsed the subway tunnel."
"How deep down are we?" Kai wonders aloud.
"I've been deeper." Cole says with a slight shrug.
"That's what she said." Katarina smirks with a slight chuckle towards the Earth Ninja, who gasps at the joke and tries to rebut, but that wasn't enough to wipe off that smug smirk on her lips.
The Lightning Ninja cheers triumphantly. "This old girl saved our lives! I told you they don't make them like they used to anymore!" He taps one of the wooden planks with his hand, causing the subway car to creak and moan. Dust creeps through the cracks of the old car as it shook, and everyone had to duck for cover for a moment until it passed.
"Do. Not. Do that again!" Cole shouts at Jay.
"Sorry! Sorry!"
Kai looks back towards the rubble blocking their only way out. He touches it to see if it'll move some of it away, but it was lodged in there tight. "Why can't you use your powers to clear the earth away?" He asks Cole.
"This ground doesn't look too stable," He explains. "But I'll try." Summoning his Earth, he directs his hands towards the rubble. The rock turns a bright yellow-orange, and he tries to move the rock, but that causes the car to shake just from that.
"Stop! STOP! STOP!" Kai shouts at Cole.
Jay ducks for cover as the car continues to shake. "COLE! BAD IDEA!"
Immediately, the Earth Ninja stops what he was doing. He summons his powers away and looks at the car again, which is now barely holding up. "The tunnel is too unstable. It seems like everything we try to do is making our safehold closer to collapse from the weight of the rubble." Katarina says.
"What do we do?" Jay wonders aloud.
Kai looks towards Katarina. "Katarina, can you use your magic to teleport outside and remove the rubble from there?"
"I'll try, but there's no telling where I'll end up. Judging from the amount of rubble surrounding the car, I might end up far away from where we currently are at. By the time I remove the rubble, who knows what'll have happened to you by then. Besides, Zane's right. We're in a delicate position right now. Removing the rubble will be like...removing a vital part from one of our mechs or the Bounty. Take that away, then the rest will come crashing down like a tidal wave."
"In other words...." The Fire Ninja says.
"It's not going to work. We're not going to get out of this car alive, at least not from where we're standing, that is."
"What do we do?" Jay says worriedly.
"Time to call for help!" Kai says. He puts on his hood and activates his comm. "Nya! Come in! Nya, you there?" The comm crackles and distorts, sending back feedback into his ear. He groans. "I'm not getting a signal."
"The debris seems to be blocking our communications." Zane says.
The Lightning Ninja groans. "Oh, great. Just great! I'm buried alive inside my favorite toy train!"
