Done in Lando POV.
------------------------------------------

I sit next to May on the couch, both of us staring at our phones. My fingers hover over the screen, the Instagram post ready to go. We've been together for a year now, and today, we're finally going public. It feels like a big step, one we've talked about for a while, but seeing it right in front of me makes it all so real.

I look over at May. She's biting her lip, her phone resting on her knee, and I can tell she's nervous. I give her hand a squeeze, trying to reassure her. I know how she feels. She's worried about my fans, especially the more protective ones. It's not going to be easy for her, but I don't want her to feel like she has to hide anymore. I don't want us to hide anymore.

"You sure you're ready?" I ask, keeping my voice soft. I want her to know we can wait if she's not ready. This is huge for her. She nods but doesn't speak right away. I wait, watching her breathe through the nerves. I know May. She's brave, but this is different, putting yourself out there for the world, for people who don't even know you, to judge. It's a lot.

"I think so," she finally says, her voice a whisper. "I just want to be prepared."

"I get that," I say, squeezing her hand again. "We don't have to do this right now. We can wait."

She looks up at me, her brown eyes soft, and I can see the determination in her expression. "No, I'm ready. It's just...a bit scary."

I nod. I get it. It's scary for me, too, in a different way. I've seen how fans can be, especially when it comes to relationships. But I want to be honest with them. With her. We look down at the post one last time. It's a simple picture, us laughing candidly in each other's arms. She took it months ago, but we both agreed it felt right for today.

"Ready?" I ask, my thumb hovering over the 'Share' button. She nods again, taking a deep breath.

"Ready."

We press the button together, and just like that, it's out there. We sit in silence for a moment, staring at our phones, almost like we're waiting for something to explode. And then, it does. My phone starts buzzing, and it doesn't stop. Notifications pour in, comments, likes, messages, all at once. It's overwhelming, but I expected that.

I look at May, and she's staring at her phone, eyes wide. "Well, that escalated fast," I say, showing her the screen.

The responses are crazy...fans freaking out, friends congratulating us. There are heart emojis everywhere, and of course, a few shocked faces. I can already see a couple of comments from fans who aren't so thrilled, but that's part of it.

"You okay baby?" I ask, looking at her closely. I need to make sure she's okay. This is a lot, especially for her. She's new to all this. She nods slowly, a smile starting to spread across her face.

"Yeah, I'm good," she says, leaning into me. I can see the relief in her eyes, the way her shoulders finally relax. I wrap my arm around her, pulling her closer.

"Happy anniversary, love" I whisper in her ear, kissing the top of her head.

"Happy anniversary, Lan" she says back. I look at the phone again, notifications still popping up, but none of it really matters. What matters is right here. Me and her, finally able to be ourselves, out in the open. It feels good. We'll handle whatever comes next, together.
