—Norm moved faster, and seconds later his own climax came; without remembering to pull out, he came inside her—Y/n gasped, her eyes quickly lighting up as she felt the warm fluid rush inside her now sensitive walls. She panted softly, feeling her body shudder at the slight movement of him slowly pulling out. Norm groaned, his hand softly gripping her thigh as he looked down, his thumb slowly trailing up to her swollen nub, softly rubbing it as he leaned down, planting a sweet kiss against her folds.
"Norm..." She murmured, slowly sitting up, her big yellow eyes almost in a shocked stare. "You didn't pull out." She whispered.
He paused, looking to meet her eyes, his mirrored with the same shocked expression. "Shit... Y/n..." He said in a hurried yet hushed tone. It was as if the realization had finally come into his head.
She shook her head, beginning to stand, as did Norm, both gathering their clothing. "It's fine... nothing will happen." She said, quickly stringing her top on, the pretty intertwined vines and leaves covering her skin once more.
Norm, on the other hand, had already been afraid of the outcome. Scared he had just messed up big time. He only nodded, giving her a light hum in response as he zipped his cargo shorts.
"I should—" Norm paused; he didn't want to leave, but he had to. He had to tell Jake, or maybe just get some space for his thoughts. "—I'll be going back to the—the lab." He mumbled, walking towards the doorway cover, his head turning back once as he stuttered with some words she didn't quite hear.
—
With time, Y/n had seen very little of Norm. He'd been avoiding her, avoiding the chance of her telling him she was pregnant. Too nervous for interactions. Any time he'd spot her from afar, his ears twitched, his fingers fidgeted, and his neck itched him. He was nervous, for a scary truth that could be waiting for him if he spoke to her.
He felt bad. Of course, he liked Y/n; she wasn't just anyone. He knew that, but in all honesty, he was too rattled at what could become of their one-time union.
The scary part was the reality. She was carrying his child in her slim belly. Which slowly would start to swell with each day that had passed. But the part that bothered her wasn't that they hadn't become mated for life, or that he plainlysaid he wanted no part—no. How could he even? He wouldn't even make eye contact with her, and that's what hurt the most.
—
She was in the water, enjoying the streaming flow of the current, the water rumbling in her ears as she floated about. Hearing a snapping of the leafy ground, her ears flickered up—ready for the sudden alerting sound.
"Y/n...?" It was Norm's voice, his tone rubbing off a bit of awkwardness and guilt. Guilt that he'd been avoiding her.
Y/n's body sank back, her mind returning to the reality. "Norm..." She murmured, slowly standing up in the lightly streaming water. She bit her lip nervously as she made contact with his eyes for the first time in a while. "I'm guessing... you figured it out?" She asked, her eyes showing a glimpse of nervousness.
His long blue arm moved behind his head, his fingers crawling to scratch the back of his head as his eyes trailed along her body, glued to her small pregnant belly. "Actually... Neytiri." He said, standing frozen in his spot.
"She told you?" She asked, slightly upset he himself hadn't figured it out on his own. "Yeah... She also said I was being a skxawng." He mumbled that last part a bit more quietly. Y/n nodded slowly, her hand came over to her small pregnant belly, softly drawing shapes on the smooth skin. "Why are you here, Norm?" Y/n asked, slowly returning her gaze to him, staying standing in the stream of water.
He sighed, looking down where her hand rested over the soft curve of her stomach. "I came to apologize... maybe even..." He paused; he didn't really know what to say or if he should offer some sort of help.
Lunah slowly emerged from the water, dripping down her body, water spilling from her hair. "This isn't Earth. This isn't like where you are from." She started, "You don't just... become intimate and disappear." She looked down at the ground.
"And...frankly, I'm not sure I want your apology." She whispered, her ears lowered, her yellow eyes meeting his.
Norm reached out but stopped, feeling hesitant. He didn't have any real explanation besides being a bloody coward. "Y/n, I-I know I've been..." He sighed. "Look, I was a jerk; I didn't know what to do." He started, moving his long arms as he spoke. "When I finally realized the seriousness of the situation... I freaked out. I left. But I'm here now—"
"Here now? Why? Because my friend had to tell you?" She asked. "I don't need your pity." She huffed, stepping past him, making her way back towards the village.
Norm watched her before hesitatingly following. "No!" He called out as he hurried to reach her. "Y/n, just wait, please?" He took her wrist, halting her next step.
She turned, glaring, "What?" She asked, snatching her hand back.
"Will you just... let me make this right?" He whispered, "Please... Y/n, I want to be here. I want to... do the ceremony stuff and climb with you in the trees." He said, taking her hand back into his. "I want to fly the Ikran and learn everything about you." He muttered softly, "I know I messed up. But I don't want to be without you or... our child." His other hand moved softly, slowly feeling her belly. "I'm ready for this. For the mating and... whatever else it takes." He whispered, pulling her closer. "Please?" He asked, his yellow eyes locking with hers.Y/n stayed silent for a long time, their eyes just searching each other's for silent signs, for answers. "You work in the science lab... you're not fit to be out here." She said, pulling away. Norma tugged her back instantly, his hand dropping hers to move around her waist. "So teach me, Y/n." He whispered, his free hand moving to cup her cheek. "I can learn. I want to, for you," he whispered, leaning in, his mouth just hovering over her ear. "For the baby..." He murmured, his hand slowly roaming her belly, as his nose nestled into the crook of her neck, his lips slowly planting kisses down her skin.
Y/n felt her chest flutter, the sudden intimacy melting her just slightly. "Norm..." she whispered. "This won't be easy..." she told him. He just hummed softly, both hands now gripping her hips.
"I'm serious—" She said, but was cut off. "And I am too. Just one chance Y/n... let me be the mate you need." He whispered. "Let me try." His voice was softer, lightly strained with sudden emotion.
Slowly, Y/n nodded, pulling back to look up at him one more time. "Okay." She whispered.(Long wait I know, short, I know, but I couldn't leave it hanging. Enjoy, hopefully).
