"Fitting In"
After darkness had started to slowly fall, a few of my brothers friends had filed out, leaving only a few, which were leaving. I knew Elliot had wanted me to play along with them, but I hadn't felt ready. After my panic attack and visit to the doctors office a few days, I had felt lethargic and slow, and being on constant watch by Oliver and Theo when Hayden had to go out to work, for the few hours he was taking up at the moment, it was hard to get out of the new routine.
So, as I stood up when Leo returned, he stopped beside me. I was looking towards where Elliot and Aiden where, Elliot teasing Aiden with the basketball. It was clear as day that both of them were shit at the sport, and that there would be no telling them otherwise. If anything, my brothers were the worst out of everyone else here, even if none of their friends played basketball themselves, my brothers had made them look like superstars.
"They are like two idiots, aren't they?" Leo muttered, a slight chuckle at the end of his words, making me laugh a little. They were two idiots. Like two peas in a pod. I nodded my head at my brother, before the two of us were wordlessly walking down to the piece of concrete that had garnered so much attention for the little that it had to offer.
Leo and I stood there, in silence, but he did wrap an arm around my shoulder, pulling me into him. I flinched at the initial contact, but he slowed his movements, and I caved into him more. He gently rubbed a hand up and down my arm, as I leaned into him more. I liked this life, and I would be more than happy to cave and knock my walls down for my brothers if this was the comfort I got afterwards.
"Dinner!" I hadn't realized how late it had gotten, but right as those words had fallen from Oliver's lips, Elliot pushed Aiden down, and I felt bile rise in my throat. I knew that it was only Elliot, and they were being playful, but it didn't stop the worry that I had for the two of them, mostly Aiden, who had just been cleared from having crutches, meaning he still had to be weary of what he did, and I was sure what he and Elliot were doing right now, was not that.
Elliot had wrapped him in a chokehold, and was giving his hair a few brushes through, to make it even more messier, while Aiden fought him. Before I knew it, Elliot was on his back, and Aiden was on top of him, keeping him there, as he gave him a few playful punches and slaps. When Elliot got the chance to push Aiden off, he came running and stood behind Leo and I, but mainly me.
I had no idea what he thought that I could do when Elliot would come running straight at us, like he was right now. I wanted to stand tall against Elliot, but I just pressed myself even further into Leo, and he chuckled at the sight. "Come on kiddos" Leo joked, and Aiden turned to him, while Elliot gave him a puzzled look.
