Second P.O.V.
The leaves sway with the coming autumn breeze as crisp air fills your lungs. You step on the slightly moist ground, stretching your muscles with a wide gesture and a long groan.
Officer Park looks at you from the trunk of his car, that you drove to this specific location, with a slight smile.
"Come and help me boy, my muscles aren't what they used to be!" He called out to you.You jogged over, pulling out a few bags out of the trunk and plopping them onto the ground. The stuff you took were mostly camping equipment and a change of clothes with some basic necessities like toothbrushes and soap.
Oh, what are you doing?
Ah, right, it's been so long since that last sequence happened, where you felt yourself lose your mind from sheer happiness and hope. That was almost two years ago now.
Oh how time flies when you're actually living.Since that time you've managed to graduate after a load of catching up, but the teachers were mostly empathetic and let you work it through at your own pace.
You've also gone through a solid number of therapy sessions and had to work your way through getting used to normal life again. The beginning was the worst but once you got into it you couldn't be more proud of yourself.
Even now you recall everything you had to endure at the start: the light was too bright, your bed was too soft, you felt sick and full of anxiety every day for no reason, you forgot the concept of freedom and being able to go outside whenever you want...
Actually that last point was rather silly. Officer Park would sometimes find you wandering into the middle of the streets, pacing from one end to the other, plucking flowers and touching walls and fences.Since your graduation you've managed to also get a job in the same law enforcement department as officer Park and Seungbae. Which made you quite proud of yourself for making it this far despite your hardships.
Now, you specialize in kidnapping cases and domestic abuse, creating funds and sniffing out clues, opening cold cases and also sharing your story with others to shine light on what many people could be going through right now and how you managed to get yourself out despite such a complicated situation. It was also nice to finally return home, to hold your plushies again, to smell the oh so familiar air hit your nostrils and especially to eat officer Park's and Seungbae's meals again.
Speaking of Seungbae, he recovered quite quickly, the nurses were shocked that he left within two months even though the wound was quite serious. Of course he had to rest for a long time before returning to do his usual police stuff, which he didn't take too well.
On the other hand, he very much enjoyed your company again and quite frankly seemed more scared for you than for himself.Even though you two couldn't leave your house that much, Seungbae was stressed to see you even leave the room, like a protective dog.
Embarrassingly, he even forced you to sleep next to him. Sometimes he'd sleep in a chair next to your bed, on the floor or right next to you in the bed. Which was a little awkward but you knew he didn't mean any harm, he's just worried. Also it was good to hear from Yoon Bum. Normally, you'd ignore the calls and messages, but this time, after a few months in specialized care, you decided to take the risk.
Upon hearing his voice you could tell that he's doing better, the staff seems to be treating him as they should and he seems to be getting better. You could no longer hear the whining, shaking childish victim on the other side, but a fair man.You spoke about his health and your adjustments to the real world again and it seemed like you both were improving at a rapid rate.
Eventually, after seeing his improvement, he was let out of the facility and joined society once again, as a working, stable member. Apparently he found a job at some random convenience store in the next town, got an apartment that the state paid for the first two months and then he was on his own.
