Second P.O.V.

Your hands clench in your lap as you blankly stare at the ground. The world is spinning slower than usual, your eyes are wide open, no trace of tiredness or fatigue ever since you witnessed a murder right before becoming a murderer yourself. That was the day before. Almost twenty four hours ago.

Muffled, enraged, loud voice sound from outside of the interrogation room - the room you hoped you'd never return, and if you had to, only on the side of the interrogator, not the interrogated.

Your thumbs caress one another as your ears try to block out the triggering volume of voices.

One voice you found familiar despite the wall in the way was Seungbae's, the other was a random guard who was meant to keep an eye on Oh Sangwoo while he was still contained.

Seungbae...
After all you've done and witnessed you cannot bear to face him. You allowed a maniac that you set off by looking too deep into his personal life years ago to kill your only family, leaving him and yourself TK fend for yourselves earlier than any of you anticipated.

The door to the room suddenly opened and with a gentle click they closed. The previously short haired male with glasses came into the room, his expression showing nothing but stress and depression.
He came close to the table, pulling the chair from the opposite side of you to right next to you, as if saying that you two are more than a police officer and a victim slash aggressor, you're brothers.

He sat down, his knees good twenty centimeters apart while his elbows rested in the hard metal table, massaging his temples in order to ease his mind.

He took a shaky breath before turning to you, scanning your worn out, traumatized form. Seeing you in this state made him hate himself for letting you leave home. He knew it would be dumb despite the kidnapping taking part a long time back. He hates himself for not protecting you and officer Park.
He should've gone with you. If he had, you wouldn't be in this situation right now.

Seungbae's hands transfered to your shoulders, pulling you closer to his shaky form and engulfing you in a tight hug. His hands spread throughout your back and pressed you closer to his chest as his chin rested on the top of your head since you kept yourself a little hunched and looking down.

He inhaled sharply as he recalls all the sweet memories you made together with your adoptive father. Despite him practically being a stranger he felt biological, real.

"It's not your fault, Y/n." He huffed into your hair, burying his nose deep into your locks and inhaling your scent, hoping for that familiar smell of home but instead getting a tangy metallic and earthy scent instead.
"You did what you could. At least you got out of it alive, it would be worse if none of you made it out..." He added, thinking of the depressing scenario where he loses you and officer Park. He'd probably end his own life as a result.

You hum, your eyes avert to look at a random wall, reminding yourself that you ended someone's life a few hours ago. From then on the thought of doing the same to the people around you other than Sangwoo has been swirling in your mind. Imaging gouging out the eyes of the innocent and leaving them in the cold... It makes you feel dirty.

"Hey, Y/n." Seungbae shook you lightly upon feeling no reaction from you, "I promise I'll take care of you alright? You don't have to work, you don't have to even go out anymore. I'll keep you covered if it secures your safety."

His words felt kind and honest. He wants to keep you alive no matter what he has to sacrifice.

Suddenly, an officer came into the room wearing a stoic expression and a folder in his arms. He motioned for Seungbae to get out and put the chair back, which he hesitantly did.
He tore his arms off of you with an expression twisted by sadness and left the room, dragging his feet on the floor and carrying his head low.
