The following week, Faith decided it was time to get back to work. So, with her notebook in arms she strutted into her recording studio like nothing had changed.
Except everything had. She had been changed and so had her music.
"Faith! I'm so glad to see you. How are you doing?" Hadley, her producer, hugged her before sitting down on the couch in the studio.
"I've definitely been better. But I appreciate you being willing to push our session back. I needed that time." Faith said.
"Are you ready now?" Hadley asked sympathetically.
Faith took a moment to think it over. Was she ready?
"No." She decided before continuing. "But I don't think I ever will be ready to live life without him, so might aswell try now."
"If you need anything, a break or a breath, just let us know. We are here to support you." Hadley said, grabbing Faith's hand.
"Thank you. I appreciate that more than you know." Faith nodded before standing up and heading to the booth. "Hey Hadley? Would I be able to try a new song? I wrote it for my brother."
"Anything you need Faith." Hadley smiled before going to the piano and playing the chords for her to record.
"That was a beautiful melody. Do you have words for it?" Hadley asked.
Faith nodded before placing her music on the stand in front of the mic.
"Can we try a record?" she asked.
Hadley nodded and replayed the track Faith just did on the piano so Faith could add in her vocal track.
Once she finished the first run through, Hadley looked blankly at her.
"Faith, that was amazing. It's a beautiful song." Hadley commented.
"Thanks Hadley. Any notes?" Faith asked.
"I can tell that you're trying to disassociate, it's obviously a painful song for you but I would love for you to break down your walls for the next take. I want to feel all your emotions. Would you like to do that today or another day?" She requested.
Faith took a deep breath before making her decision, "I'll do it today."
With that, she broke down her walls and recorded an emotionally powerful take of If You Say So.
"Faith...that was it. How do you feel?" Hadley asked with sympathy filling her eyes.
"Actually...I feel better." Faith answered, wiping a tear. "To just belt it out and let myself feel in a happy outlet like this...it feels right."
"We can add the background vocals and other instruments another day but I think you might have just found your lead single."

After the studio, Faith and Rachel decided to go on an impromptu adventure before Rachel had rehearsals.
"Are you sure about this?" Faith asked the Berry girl who had decided to get a haircut for a wig for Funny Girl.
"I need this. I feel stuck." Rachel said, looking in the mirror at the Hudson girl.
"Speaking of, I actually had a breakthrough today. That song I showed you? For Finn? I showed it to my producer and she loved it. Even made me break down my walls for a take and it felt...freeing almost." Faith sighed.
"I'm proud of you, Faye. You sure you don't want to change your hair?" Rachel asked.
"I have his hair. When we were younger, Finn had a phase where he didn't want to cut his hair so badly that it was the same length as mine. From behind you couldn't tell which one of us it was. I guess I'm trying to hold on to whatever makes me feel close to him, even if it's hair that was similar to his." Faith shrugged.
